Hi Patsfans,

This thread will probably be moved shortly (I hope it's allowed to stay for just a day at least), but it's a bit of a serious post and I need some prayers. Obviously this is a sports forum and all, but without getting into too much, I have been in an ongoing bout with depression. I have been getting counseling and everything, but the thoughts of ending it are back and they're strong. I have really enjoyed being on the board talking Patriots with all of you very much. I guess I just wanted to reach out to those of you who pray and ask that you please pray for me. I don't know where my journey will end up and I'm trying very hard to fight and stay positive, but things are rough for me at the present time in a lot of different ways. Please send some words up in prayer for me as I continue to try to make sense of some of the things that have happened and some of the present difficulties I am having.

I hate to put up such a sad thread and all, but I just needed to "verbalize" this and my usual outlets are unavailable to me at this time. I hate that I have to reach out in this fashion, but I didn't know what else to do in my present state of mind. It was the only thing I could do to keep from doing something worse. I thank you all for giving me a place of refuge to talk only Patriots, which is one of the few things in my life that I still enjoy.

I'm sorry for your struggles. Depression is a terrible illness. Stay strong.

If you really can't cope, you might also want to try this:

I can't even pretend to understand what you're going through. But please stay strong, man. Think about the people in your life that depend on you and who want to see you live on and get better. I think in another thread you mentioned a past use of meds that helped you. If that's the case, please get back on them. Sending thoughts your way, as I don't really pray that much these days.

PatsBoy12, know that you are certainly in my thoughts and prayers. I am sorry to hear you are going through a tough time. Life gets hard sometimes but you must try to stay positive. Though it may be hard to see right now, things really do always get better, it can just take some time. I am glad you reached out though. Please don't hesitate to reach out again if you need someone to talk to. I always have time for a fellow Pats fan in need, or anyone for that matter.

As they say, it's always darkest before the dawn. Your dawn is coming. Just stay strong and reach out to those that can help you.

God bless and you are in my prayers.

I hope you can find some daylight soon. It runs in my family so I've got some idea of what you are dealing with. The dark space is tricky and tries to create your reality to fit its agenda. I'm glad you were able to say it out loud, here. Your presence here is welcome and appreciated.

I undestand pats boy. you need to remember things are not as bad as You percieve them to be. You need to remember that and keep fighting the demons.

I wish you well man, keep on fighting, one at a time. I understand hard struggles, I have my own demons.

I know it's hard and damn scary, but you can make it.

One day at a time..don't think about the past or tomorrow, just today.

Prayers for you.

Patsboy12, you need to know people need you. Other people in all kinds of hurt need you. You can help them. You matter to us. You matter to them.

I appreciate your contributions to this site and I wish you well.

I will tell you something a close friend of mine told me a few years back when times were rough : "People care about you, and I am one of those people."

Please reach out to someone you trust and stay strong.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're struggling. Please know that you're valued and needed -- sometimes the dark places make it hard to see that truth, but it IS the truth!

If there is a medication that has helped in the past, please try it again. Everyone here cares about you and you are a part of this community. I'm glad you reached out here because that means the community is doing what its supposed to do….be there for each other.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I believe that most families (including mine) are impacted in some way by depression, so it's important for you to realize that you aren't alone. It's also important to realize that what's ailing you is, in fact, just that - an ailment, just as physical conditions are, such as arthritis or chronic indigestion, etc. There should be no more stigma attached to your condition than to those. I would just echo the suggestions of others that you seek help. It's virtually everywhere, as others have noted. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

PatsBoy12 please know that you are not alone. There are millions of Americans that suffer from depression, so again you need to know that you are not alone. Most people in fact suffer from some mild form of depression. As humans we are all flawed, its natural. As others have said, I am glad you posted this here because although I am new here, I too feel a brotherhood with the forum members. Please seek whatever help you think you may need whether its counseling, prayers, or meds.

In any event, there is no way you are going to miss the one thing you really enjoy right now, seeing the Patriots repeat and maybe even three-peat so hang in there buddy. We need you around to make us think, laugh, and cheer.

Stay strong Patsboy12!! Your entire family here on this site is in your corner. You're never alone or without friends. I'm praying hard for you.
