Who Made the Patriots Practice Squad? Looks Like We Have Some AnswersEric Canha-USA TODAY Sports

One day after the Patriots cut down their roster to 53, it appears we at least know who has returned to the practice squad.

It looks like several skill players are back on offense, with running backs J.J. Taylor and Kevin Harris both reportedly back in Foxboro, along with wide receivers Tre Nixon and Lil’ Jordan Humphrey.  Tight ends Matt Sokol and Jalen Wydermyer are also back with the team.

The Patriots did see one player end up elsewhere, with tight end Devin Asiasi getting claimed by Cincinnati, which now definitely closes the door on his time here.

A few other note-worthy players also returned, with undrafted free agent LaBryan Ray rejoining the club, along with linebackers Cameron McGrone and Harvey Langi, as well as defensive back Terrance Mitchell.  Ray had a solid preseason and really came a long way, which will hopefully see him continue to grow behind the scenes this season.  McGrone also had some good moments, so the said can be said about him as well.

Getting both Taylor and Harris back was also good to see, as both players performed well and Harris really came on strong late in the preseason, showing some terrific power and the ability to break through initial contact.  Taylor also grew quite a bit from last season, with the running back providing some additional depth behind a group that certainly has a fair amount talent.

Otherwise, here’s the full list of practice squad players:

OFFENSE:

Tre Nixon – WR
Lil’ Jordan Humphrey – WR

Matt Sokol – TE
Jalen Wydermyer – TE

J.J. Taylor – RB
Kevin Harris – RB

James Ferentz – OL
Kody Russey – OL
Bill Murray – OL

*There was an unidentified offensive lineman wearing #68 sighted by reporters on Wednesday.

DEFENSE:

Harvey Langi – LB
Cameron McGrone – LB

Jeremiah Parms – DL
LaBryan Ray – DL

S Brad Hawkins

CB Terrance Mitchell

Obviously, this list could change but that’s who was spotted by multiple reporters during Wednesday’s practice.
