For what it's worth, one Vegas site (CG) listed wager lines on season win totals for all 32 NFL teams in mid-March; they had the Patriots at 10. Only three teams (Broncos, 49ers and Seahawks) were at 11.

While that 10-win total may seem tempting, it's not an even bet either (-125); the Packers are also at 10 wins but only -105 making them probably a better deal.

Call me a homer but I think we go 13-3 with all 3 losses coming on the road.

If Brady is healthy I'd personally have the Patriots O/U at 11.5. If you can get 10 at anything less than -250 jump on it.

I love our schedule, the first half is not that difficult and then to help us prepare for the championship run we have some great matchups. I'm hoping we are 7-0 going into the Bears/Broncos/Colts/Lions/Packers/Chargers stretch. I'm predicting 13-3 overall. I'm excited to see how our defenses do against those offenses above.

Going with 12-4 like most years.

1 L to a NFC team
1 L to a non division team
1 L to someone in the division
1 L from a game we should win but lose. What game is that I don't know.

And all this will likely be wrong.

That's been my thought throughout the years as well. Obviously you hope for more victories, but if you're looking for the most likely outcome, 12 wins sounds about right. Since 2008 the team has averaged exactly 12.0 wins, and even if you go beyond to include '07 - or further back to the Super Bowl years - the average is still 12.15 wins per year. One division loss and one WTF game are the norm, not the exception. Thirteen or more wins is a very difficult achievement and very rare, for any NFL team.

Number of NFL teams with 13+ regular season wins:
2013: 2
2012: 2
2011: 4
2010: 2
2009: 3
2008: 1
2007: 4
2006: 3
2005: 3
2004: 3
2003: 2

I absolutely, positively cannot believe that and I pray that that line holds so I can go to Vegas and wager several thousand dollars. Basically, you only lose if the Patriots go 9-7 or worse.

EDIT: I did a quick check and just about every other listing I could find has the Patriots currently at 10-and-a-half. So while I definitely still like the over, it is worth nothing that 10-6 would be a loss.

We can will all the games, if they were one offs, I'd say we beat Chargers and Pack, but I had to pick some games to lose, and we don't lose at home. The Dolphins/Vikes/Chiefs/Bills all suck and we seem to have Luck's number.

If the Pats sweep the AFCE games it would be only the third time in the TB/BB era but the second time in the last three years that they did.

Year - Div Losses - Total Losses
2013 - NYJ, Miami - 4

2009: 3 - Indy, SD, NO
2008: 1 - Tennessee

2005: 3 - Indy, Denver, Seattle
2004: 3 - NE, Pitt, Philly
2003: 2 - NE, KC
2002: 0

I thought that I'd add in the teams just for the heck of it. I hope it worked in the new format.
I listed the teams with the AFC teams first, because that's the way it should be.
I was surprised that Atlanta has had 13+ wins twice in the last 4 years.

I feel like that's a talented team still in ATL. I think they'll compete in the NFCS this season as they were demolished by injuries to key players last year. And maybe I'm biased because I like Matt Ryan.

I think 12 wins is achievable this year. Looking at the Bronco game to get flexed into a prime time game.

If we can get some real production out of multiple wide receivers and barring no major injuries (knocks on wood*):

1-7-Sep-NE @ MIA-Sun Life Stadium-1:00 PM-Win
2-14-Sep-NE @ MIN-TCF Bank Stadium-1:00 PM-Win

16-21-Dec-NE @ NYJ-MetLife Stadium-1:00 PM-Win
17-28-Dec-BUF @ NE-Gillette Stadium-1:00 PM-Win

If we don't lose to Chicago I think we'll drop the GB game and win the SD game with our first loss coming @ KC. Either Way 14-2, maybe 13-3 with a loss in Buffalo or Miami

I was thinking of going to SD for the game. Thanks for saving me the trip money!

Just a small nitpick, but they didn't lose to either one of the NYJ or MIA at home last year, as your post suggests. I imagine it to be nothing more than quick typing or an oversight. Just thought I'd point it out. Thanks for posting.

No problem. I make mistakes.

I just think it's strange how many times we've lost to Miami and the Jets only in the same year (8 times in 14 years under BB). There's also the fact that we've lost to only Buffalo in two seasons and to only Miami in two others, and to no AFCE team twice, but never only to the Jets. They're special.
