“Smoke” surrounding Pats org, according to grilled cheese sandwich (Remains Unconfirmed)

However their coaches aren’t stirring the pot and kicking up dirt.
Because the coaches on those teams understand the NFL and have futures as coaches in the league. Mayo doesn't get it and has nothing to lose by seeking justice for his firing.

Let me get this straight, so Mayo was told to lose, he said no ****ing way, going for the win. So Mayo’s strategy for the win was to start Drake Maye FOR ONE SERIES, bring in my rookie 6th round pick who’s never thrown an NFL pass, and he knew this was gonna win the game for him. Gimme a friggen break. If anything, Mayo should be investigated for trying for the loss, it just backfired on him.
Pats left in most starters and Maye had one win to his name so it really didn’t matter who played. What we did see was Milton playing hero ball chucking passes around the field. That was ****ing annoying.
Allegedly? Alleged by who?
Grilled Cheese and Savage Sports. This is what they are clearly implying.

My guess is that Mayo was told to tank sometime during the season and that his job was safe. He couldn’t even do that right and ended up getting fired over it.

Good God can we slow the f**k down lmao
Well I was simply stating that if whatever this is comes to fruition and was bad enough that it costs us as an organization then something should be done. So maybe I overreacted a tad. Our track record is not the greatest when it comes to **** like this.

I’m just saying that worrying about losing our 4th pick this year is a maaaajor reach right now.

IF Mayo is unwise enough to pursue whatever against the Patriots after faking his way through last season, he will forever be persona non grata in Foxboro.

If true and Mayo has proof Kraft told him to lose the last Bills game ssy goodbye to #4 overall pick.
Hopefully its BS.
Losing more draft picks would cripple the team and the organization
What the hell would be the point of telling him to lose? I'm not the only one to note that tanking helps the fans and the team, but it does nothing good for the players on the field.

My gut instinct tells me that what happened was roughly along the lines of:

1. Things reach the breaking point with BB
2. Kraft promised Mayo the job, and didn't want to lose him, so he decided to keep his word and name Mayo the coach.
3. Somewhere in the offseason, Kraft realizes that Mayo's struggles are at least partly his/BB's fault (i.e., the lack of mentorship, a lack of connections from being a Pats "lifer").
4. They win the Bengals game, and Kraft gets optimistic.
5. They limp to the bye at 3-10. Even still, Kraft is at worst on the fence about firing Mayo.
6. Mayo craps the bed over Weeks 15-17, ending with l'affaire Stevenson.
7. Kraft decides to fire Mayo.
8. The Patriots win against Buffalo.
9. Kraft makes his decision public.

Kraft needs to sell the team because Dakota from Braintree and a grilled cheese sandwich have “heard” that there’s “smoke” that “something is up”
Grilled cheese with a dash of smoke

Well if Grilled Cheese says it’s true then it must be true. He has even more cache than Angelo in Everett. They may never get to pick in the draft again.
Ah but Angelo in Everett has mozzarella sticks that will make Grilled Cheese die of jealousy!

Maybe a tangent, but completely relevant.... what are your laws up there as far as audio recording without consent?

Where I live, it's legal and totally admissible. If Mayo has something or not, the buck stops there.

Massachusetts is a two-party consent state

I can’t believe there’s 10 pages here (that I’m now adding to) over this, and for some reason the board collectively decided it’s about tanking? So many layers of imaginary stuff going on here

I think we all have PTSD from the “gates“ of the last 20 years

I don't think it has anything to do with tanking. Complete speculation, but maybe it explains Robyn Glazer leaving the whole Kraft organization, which seems weird.
If I am reading this correctly, nothing will get you cancelled quicker than a star wars show on Disney Plus than being lecherous...

And in the NFL as well ( e.g. Kapernick, K.) No team wants to deal w the fallout and bad press.

Journalism died a long time ago...

Grilled Cheese is likely a trainer at a gym where someone from the Pats works out or used to after this.

Is there a rule about tanking?
No, but you cannot pay a coach to tank and any incentive to a coach to tank falls in the same can't do area.
One of the users that posted the rumor also posted a story about Flores and said read between the lines.

Basically, they are saying Kraft somehow promised to incentivize Mayo to tank.

What that incentive was they won't say (You lose you keep your job?) (You lose we give you a severance on top of your salary?) (Free massages in Florida for life?).
Flores went nowhere and without solid proof it would go nowhere but if Mayo wanted to get back at Kraft and the Patriots dropping a lawsuit saying you were fired because you didn't tank might hurt the organization during a crucial free agency period.
Mayo could also believe the stories that came out after he was fired was Kraft making a negative narrative about him and preventing him from landing another job, thus the desire to get revenge.

If Mayo had a smoking gun then I think legitimate reporters would have reported this already.

All speculation at this point.
