This is a guy you cut the first week of training camp. This explains why BB continually passed on talented players because of how much a pain in the ass they can be. Hernandez is the final boss of these types of players.

I had known of the incident with Welker in the film room; but I had not known of a couple of these other ones...

In retrospect, Bill didn't do Hernandez or his team any favors by giving him such a long leash... That ****ing psycho should've had a private eye tailing him 24/7... And that uncharacteristically early contract extension, what the **** was that?!?

Again, it was never Bill's MO to draft a raw high upside QB like Maye and make him the franchise QB. He's never done that so why would he start now? He passed on Lamar Jackson and picked Michel instead. He didn't even like Josh Allen at the start of his career and he was the same profile so he wouldn't have drafted him either if he had a chance.

And at his age and the time he had left in the NFL he wants a polished win now QB prospect to help him and his team win now- that's why he picked the "safe" Mac Jones instead of trading up for Fields or Lance. Nothing wrong with that thinking and it's understandable (other than in hindsight he if he was going to trade up for anyone it should have been Micah Parsons and I think Jones would have still been there when the Pats picked next) - too bad Cork didn't work out in NE.

The Pats only had two choices: release him and eat the contract or work around his problems. They chose the latter and it didn't work out well for anybody.

I’m guilty for liking the kid at first. Then that tennis pic just killed it for me. Totally sank the SS MacJones ship. She went down in 19 seconds flat. Honestly how could you not like him or at least hope for the best when we had serial worm killer Scam throwing it. Then again I liked Scam at the time as a player as he seemed the consummate pro’s pro. If Mac had cams swagger and balls, I think he would be a much better player. Would also have 9 more kids but hey…or however many scam has now or on the way. I think that died down when he started the podcast crap and makes himself look and sound like a tool. But yea count me as an initial Mac liker. And yea the debacle BB put him with dumb and dumber leading the O tells me BB didn’t like him much lol. It was a different form of doghouse. Like “fck u and ur career kid I’m BB and ill get away with this while you looks like ***…”. Funny how that did I mean didn’t work out…

The Pats could've cut ties with him the 1st training camp when he was already causing problems. You don't reward a guy with a mental illness that extension they gave him. That's nobody's fault but their own.

In general, that's a fair point. But how is any sports Franchise expected to be able to distinguish between immaturity during a potential star's "1st training camp" and mental illness exacerbated by CTE? Later. Ultimately, there was little doubt in Hernandez' case, but how could the full extent of his issues have been identified that early?
That's a real question to which I honestly don't know the answer. And, it doesn't excuse the decision not to act later.

I don't think Mac had/has it in him to be a quality NFL starter. Some physical deficiencies but also some things lacking a bit mentally/leadership when it comes to dealing with adversity. The coaching situation and how he handled that kind of showed that.

THAT BEING SAID, the above can be true while the coaching situation itself also being an inexcusable absolute **** show is also true. It was and still utterly ridiculous what they did there. Complete and total disorganization that would have set anyone up to fail, even a more worthy franchise QB than Mac ever was or is. Just call it what it is... Belichick was/is going senile as far as running a football program and that was the absolute red flag to that. It's ok to admit. It happens to people at his age sometimes.
