Amazing good interview. Only wanted to to watch 5 minutes. Did the whole 30. whee- Doggie good!

One item they failed to mention in the „rules changes“: Joint Practices. Nobody ever did that before BB, now everyone does.

„Pope vs America Willie, who you got?
I gotta go with America!“.
I was hoping somebody might chime in with a rule change that they might have missed.

Some how, some way Tom Brady let air out of my car tires last night and the low pressure light came on this morning.

I mean, it COULD instead be that we are having a cold snap, and PV=nRT, but you gotta trust the NFL that this can't happen.

IMO Spygate was overblown, and Deflategate was invented out of whole cloth, because the rest of the league could not beat the Pats on the field and were tired of their dominance. I’m thinking this was driven by the other owners.

The fact that BB was curmudgeonly just made it so much easier for people to accept the narrative.

People who claim the Pats cheated and put asterisks at the end of Pats, are showing how butt hurt the are that their teams failed and need an excuse to make themselves feel better.

In truth there SHOULD be an asterisk at the end of the Pats name. If would signify that the Pats are the only team so dominant that the rest of the league cheated to bring them back to the pack.
And failed, although they succeeded in satisfying most of the population's belief in propaganda.

Funny, they announced that they were going to check the balls in cold weather games but never released the results.. Strange...
I'm willing to put money down that there weren't too many people at 345 Park Avenue that took chemistry or physics in college.. or high school or calculus....

My favorite part of the whole thing was how the criminal mastermind -- a temporary ballboy making $8.50 an hour, who goes by the name of Bird, a grown man making teenage Doritos Dink jokes, this guy spent 6 hours a day over 2 days locked in a room with FBI investigators, and he outsmarted them all! He fooled them. He doesn't appear ANYWHERE in the report other than taking the balls into the rest room.

ZERO about his interrogation.

They had the texts where he called the other guy the deflator (once in May when there are no games and one in November within 30 seconds of his "accomplice" appearing on TV at an away game in Green Bay holding a puffy coat) and yet, the nation's crack interrogators and investigators couldn't get this guy to break over the span of 12 hours. He stuck to his idiotic story about seeing a TV commercial referencing weight loss!

I tell you, if you want to rob a bank, you might consider hiring this mastermind.

Oh, I forgot. They thought this guy was highly suspicious. He described the break room as having a urinal. But it was a toilet! HOW MUCH MORE GUILTY CAN A MAN BE?!

It was only in the late 1600s that French physicist Guillaume Amontons first observed that gas pressure increases with temperature. Yes, even before Gay-Lussac, Boyle, et al.

Ya can't expect the NFL to be up on all of the latest tech!

Every time they spoke about this back in the day, I got irritated.

Your TPMS light never came on, Roger? You schmuck!

There are certainly more things he innovated that league either copied (or OUTLAWED LOL) but I m not sure if all could be called „rule changes“. A true list I bet would be two pages, but many would be considered minutiae maybe.

Don't forget that he went into a single person restroom and LOCKED THE DOOR! No normal person does this. They happily endure the mutual embarrassment of having someone walk in while you're urinating or taking the browns to the super bowl. You could use a simple locking mechanism to let people know the bathroom is occupied, but that's unusual and suspicious to the NFL investigators. Plus, he was going to stand on the sidelines for a couple of hours. Why would anyone want to make sure their bladder was empty before doing something like that?

The fact that many in the sports media found these to be credible concerns shows that they deserve more disdain than Belichick showed them.

He was here too. Brady is Santa Claus

Took a look at the Colts Fan Forum - you’d think that many of their “fans” had just won another Super Bowl with Belichick not being inducted. Expect another banner raising in the fall…..

Well that just isn’t true.
I listed the numbers above
Those are Lombardis career w/l record and Starrs record for the years Lombardi was his coach.

Lombardi coached 164 games. Starr started 113 of them.
His record without Starr has to include 51 games, you only accounted for 32.
You numbers are not right.

Not even close.

Amateur physicists everywhere tried to use the Ideal Gas Law to calculate the pressure and all made the same mistake of forgetting that the air pressure gauges measure the difference from ambient atmospheric pressure, not the absolute pressure, so they all thought the measured pressures were way too low confirming the NFL's idiocy.

Didn’t matter though since the NFL cited a rule, that held up in court, that they can do whatever they want with league members.

They are legally allowed to make up an offense out of whole cloth and impose penalties.

^This.
That is all the court ruled. The 2nd Circuit Court found in Brady's favor so the league moved the goalposts on appeal. The 2nd Circuit Appeals Court did not determine Brady "cheated" they only ruled under the terms of the collectively bargained CBA the commissioner's actions were allowed; that in the face of the CBA under which he played the rule of 'fundamental fairness' did not apply as it had been bargained away by the NFLPA. Ultimately Brady was suspended because he could be, showing the players once again they are the cattle and the commissioner is the rancher. That is the real reason Big Shield went to the wall, can't have the help gettin' too uppity and expecting anything close to fairness.

I have been trying to normalize this usage of the concept for nearly a decade.

As soon as I walk out and see the decrease in tire pressure...

"Welp, looks like Tom Brady paid us a visit last night."

Yup. The initial ruling was about whether Brady was treated fair and whether the NFL legitimately found him guilty. The appeals were about the CBA's strength for the league being able to handle any offense however they wanted without outside interference undermining it.

The Appellate Court did a sloppy job. I remember a legal analyst said that, YES, the NFL can do what they want, but not if they're lying and there's fraud. The first judge ruled correctly. The problem is that the Appellate judges didn't bother to even read the case. That was clear when one of the judges spouted things that were proven false in the actual decision. Clearly he hadn't read it.

They treated the NFL like it was World Wide Wrestling, an entertainment entity with wide latitude to determine outcomes to maximize the entertainment dollar.

In retrospect, I can't say I blame the Appellate Court entirely.
