Patriots Injury News Mack Hollins Nearing Return?

Never been out there, but I vividly remember Belichick always insisting it was a nothing burger........... and then he and Brady went 2-4 regular season (89-38 for all other reg season road games) and 0-3 in playoff games out there (7-1 for all other road playoff games).

No other city comes close.

No amount of bluff can erase that 'it is what it is'.

I'm sorry, but Belichick's/Vrabel's lines of thinking are just pure stubborness. It IS an OBJECTIVE and huge factor. Hopefully the second string QB falloff is a bigger one Sunday.

.
You do realize that if a coach believes it’s a big disadvantage he would never say that to his team or publicly where they would hear it right?

...and red zone. Especially if 5-10 McMillan covers him or 6ft Moss.
You’d think, but it hasn’t materialized. Hollins only has 4 red zone catches all season and just 2 inside the 10.

I don’t know there’s as much causation as you imply here. The three times they lost in Denver in the playoffs was for the 2005, 2013 and 2015 seasons. Broncos won 13 games in 2005 and 2013. In 2015 they won 12 (and beat 15-1 Panthers in the Super Bowl). 2015 was kind of a WTF loss because of how washed Peyton was but the Broncos were crazy good in 2005 and especially 2013. The fact that they were hosting those games is a reflection of how they were better than us over the whole season in those years record wise, so it’s not like it came out of nowhere for us to lose to them in general. 2005 was one of the worst Brady/BB teams we had as age kinda caught up to them coming off back to back long playoff seasons. 2013 was the year we were decimated with injuries too. Those two years in particular we were obviously the lesser team regardless of where the game was played.

Not sure where you got 7-1 in other road games either. They were 4-1 in others. Beat PIT in 01/04, SD in 06, KC in 2018. Lost to IND in 06. Still a strong record of course so does fit your argument that there was something “different” about DEN. But I really don’t see as much causation as you imply. We lost there three times and 2 of them they were obviously better and the other was a toss up result.

Vrabel said you need 10 days to prepare for the effects of altitude. They don't have 10 days to prepare.

Maybe I'm overthinking it but it seems like Maye Fumbled less when Hollins was active.
The fumbles are from poor pass protection, substandard ball security, ass-kicking speed rushers and good coverage downfield. Maybe he would have thrown it sooner and to Mack as he is a decent at 50/50 balls. Who knows.

Shouldn't we have heard by now if they were opening the window for Mack's return? I think whatever the abdomen injury was must have been pretty serious.

I think Wednesday is the first day.

A Mack Hollins return would be much needed. He was good o 3rd downs and inside the red zone. It would be a help to this team in this big game against Denver .

I've lived here for 21 years and sometimes still have issues with the altitude when leaving Denver (5280') for skiing in the mountains.
It has mostly to do with hydration.
It does affect people differently. I've seen groups of hikers from the east coast have no issues with the altitude while summiting 14ers.

With Denver being a potential rival for years to come. I think it’s time the krafts start looking at property for a training facility in Flagstaff AZ. A little west coast hub if you will. Spend much of January out there. Cold enough to boot. That would be a commitment to the future if there ever was one. Too bad they’re too cheap to do it.

Big day for Hollins, first practice since he's eligible to return. The fact 2 guys were talking like he'd be back this week is promising but will know a lot more tis afternoon.

Re the travel to Denver I trust Vrabel knows what he is doing. He's been out there many times as a player and knows what it's like to play in the altitude.

I think the beer is colder at the stadium and the price of eggs is lower when Hollins is active
