Mahomes will never be better than Brady

At this point it's more probable people are right that Mahomes is the next Wilson than it is he catches Brady.
Can we pump the breaks on Russell Wilson?

Mahomes wasn't good in the Super Bowl but he was running for his life on a bad foot all night and his receivers didn't help him out much either. He's still likely to win to multiple league MVP's and Super Bowls. The one thing that may catch up with him is injuries. That said, Brady has set the bar so high now that no one, including Mahomes, will ever match it. However, Mahomes is already better than Wilson. Each is 1-1 in the Super Bowl but only Wilson threw a devastating pick to end the game (following a 4-pick game in the NFCCG). Mahomes is an all-pro with a league MVP award. Wilson is not. Wilson was a landslide MVP at the midway point of this season before he went turnover-happy in the second half. In one stretch of 3 losses Wilson had 9 turnovers.

I'm not saying Wilson isn't good, because he's an excellent quarterback, but he's not Mahomes, and he's come up really small in the some big moments. If he doesn't win another Super Bowl then he'll be most remembered for a completion to a db.

I like this, and I think you're right. Peyton wanted Sun Tzu to be right, 100%, and have the battle won in the preparation. Welp, sometimes preparation gets you to a level playing field.... like when the old Colts would play the Pats. Brady eats adrenaline for breakfast, lunch, and dinner... he thrives in the moments, after preparing as thoroughly as any player... but yeah I agree, Brady WANTS to be in there when it's 28-3, he WANTS it to all be in his hands

Peyton Manning was Sun Tzu
Brady is Clausewitz

Love ya, Cap but Brees ain’t better than Seyton Manning.
Why not? They were both climate-controlled QBs practically their whole careers; they are both near the top of all of the lifetime stats; Fivehead has a grand total of...One...more ring than Brees does, and he was Extremely lucky to have "earned" those two; and in their only head-to-head PO matchup (SB44) Brees won, so I don't believe that it's as much of a slam dunk that Gomer (or is it Goober?) is #2 to Brady's #1...

They’re both cerebral & have ultimate command of their respective offenses; however, Manning is a cut above Brees when it comes to the mental aspect of the game...what do you think all the head is for?!?!

I don’t have Manning #2; that belongs to Montana IMHO. To each his own, but to me Manning is just a better overall QB than Brees (and I love Brees). Brees NEVER won an MVP...ever; which means he wasn’t even the best player for a single season. Head to head matchups aren’t the end all, be all...if that’s the case, then Eli is better than Brady, right?...

What I will say is that IMHO Brees optimized his potential more than any QB (besides Brady), being that he is short, had a bad injury early in his career & came from a terrible franchise. I have the ultimate respect for him, but I’d take Manning over Brees.

It is what it is.

Don't equate Brees with that steroid riddled, sexual assault artist and world renowned whiner, Peytie Pooch. Polian, as he sat at the HEAD of the competition committee for years early in Peytie's career CHANGED the NFL's offensive rules to suit HIS scumbag "I put muh ball sack on dat trainer's face, har yuck yuck yuck" Manling.

Mahomes and Rodgers both run around, dodge defenders, and make amazing, athletic throws. They are both great players. But by the time they throw the ball on those plays, Brady would have completed a routine looking pass, and been onto the next play while those guys are still running around earning oohs and aahs.
Perfectly said. I would include Wilson in this to.

Maybe now people will shut up about Mahomes being the greatest thing ever.
If Mahomes was with the Bucs and Brady with this Chiefs teams, what do you think the outcome of this game will have been?

Guys, Romo almost perfectly summarized this issue tonight; Mahomes will now have to win *8 SBs* if he wants to pass Brady. Eight. Brady now has the SB tie breaker. Just think about how unattainable that goal is for Mahomes.
With his style of play there is a reasonable chance he is retired eight years from now. It was an absolutely ridiculous conversation to begin with. Was anybody talking about Brady replacing Montana as the GOAT before Brady's second Superbowl? Of course not. It would have been moronic.

Is this the old if Rodgers had Bill he would have 10 rings argument? Lol.
Weren't the Chiefs favored? Weren't many analysts predicting a blow out by the Chiefs?
But, but, but it would have been different if Pat had Tom's team! Pathetic.

Tom and the Chiefs would have lost in a low scoring Bucs defense dominating game.
We've seen how vulnerable any QB is to a dominating defense...Pats beating Manning's Colts (Ty Law, etc) and Jints D in 2007 SB, etc

Step 1: Middle of the season, the Patriots (Bucks) are done. They’re not close to being good enough to win a title.

Step 2: _____ will crush the Pats (Bucs) in the playoffs.

Step 3: Brady wins the SB

Step 4: Not fair, Brady had a stacked team, anyone would have won with that team. Anyone would have broken the SB record for passing yards, three straight SB’s in a row. Brady stinks, his mother is a hamster and his father smells of elderberries.

Rinse and repeat for 20 years.

Nice take. Unfortunately its s minority one
New Englanders still love Brady. Higher TV ratings for the SB here than in Tampa. That's the Brady factor. Tom is gone from the team but not gone from most Pats fans.

the majority are fair weather pink hats who will be gone in a couple of years......it's not the pats you are a fan of, it's 'winning' even though you haven't actually won a thing

But that was not true of superman Mahomes. Apparently nothing could stop him - not 3/5s of his Oline being out and the ferocious Bucs D that dominated both the Saints and Packers. My sincere hope is that people will just stop with the ridiculous adulation of his guy. He is supremely gifted for sure but vulnerable and dare I say pedestrian just like any other QB when a defense smashes him in the mouth.

I heard for two straight weeks from Chiefs fans and “experts” that the OL doesn’t matter when it comes to him because he’s Michael Jordan in cleats.

He could eventually go down as top 5/top 10 all time perhaps but I’m so glad Brady and the Buccaneers defense shut this stupid GOAT talk up.

Brady's greatness and accumulation of accomplishments will be hard to surpass for anyone, ever. With that said, I think Mahomes is a fantastic QB and will most assuredly have a HOF career. This loss hurts him no doubt, but I imagine we will be watching Patrick Mahomes contending for many years to come, unfortunately.
