^^^. From that ESPN article..

"Coughlin wasn't sitting in the middle of the press box like he did at Gillette Stadium in January, when he muttered and shook his head and banged his fist on a table as the Patriots came from behind to beat Jacksonville in the AFC Championship Game. He did his reacting to this emotional game in relative solitude, after Giants co-owner John Mara visited his suite before kickoff."

Coughlin is behind the scenes but he's running the show. Last week he beats jints. This week it's Patriots in town. 1-2 punch. Really big game. Going to take a clean game on the road. No turnovers. Watch out for cheap penalties.

I'll be cheering from the upper deck, though at the 40 yard line and on the aisle. Just $164 per ticket on ticketmaster. That is maybe half of what a similar ticket would be in Miami, and I don't even want to think about what I'd have to pay in Foxboro. I'd have to tell one of my 3 kids who are in college to drop out!
Not bad. I paid $238 per ticket in the lower bowl. Club seats are going for around $600.

I’m afraid that I’ll be viewed as pessimistic since I pointed out some concerns with Houston last week in the 2018 version debut for our Pats, but I think Jacksonville poses a threat as well, particularly in their house.

We have to remember that it was 20-10 in the 4th quarter here at Gillette in the AFCCG, and really, we can thank our lucky stars that it wasn’t 27-10 since the NFL admitted a mistake in whistling the Myles Jack scoop and score prematurely.

They did a good job at limiting the offense for the majority of the game by getting physical, are pissed off about the belief that they were robbed of a chance to go to the Super Bowl, and will be pumped up in front of their home crowd for their opener.

Lots of reasons to like our chances, but I think the concern is legitimate, too.
I was disappointed with Burkhead and White last week (3.6 ypc) as well as Hogan and Patterson (17 yards of offense). I think it will be challenging to move the ball, especially if Michel is unavailable. Gronk seems to be the only real wrapon for Brady. Big pressure on the D which, thankfully, looks improved.

As I mentioned in another thread, the offense needs Edelman back badly. The offense runs through him, not Gronk.

Last year our run offense averaged 2.1 YPC against Jax. It’s going to be tough on Sunday.

We know the jags will play cover 1 for the majority of the game or a cover 2 concept. I’d be surprised if they go for a zone scheme considering who they have in their D.

James white and Burkhead will be huge for us in this game and could be the deciding factor. Personally I think we should run the ball down there ****ing throats and tire them
Out.

Coleman Dorsett and Hogan are basically non existent in this game As Ramsey or boyue will be covering them or maybe one will cover gronk or try too..

Personally I think Ryan Allen will also be very very important in this game for pinning the jags back in there half and forcing them to drive 90 yards.

I expect we will see Shelton, Guy, Brown. In a lot of packages to force them to throw the ball.

Think it will be a close game. I’m going 21-10 pats

I think you still have to try and challenge those corners without throwing a pick 6.

I wonder if the Patriots will be wearing their home jerseys. I know when we played Miami in September a few years ago(2014 maybe) they had us in the dark blue which didn't help with the hot, muggy weather. Didn't I see it was supposed to be 93 and humid?

The team's blitzkrieg of moves at WR indicate they agree with this assessment. Gronk simply cannot get that amount of targets per game and hope to last the entire season. Not with the hits that he takes (which are typically below the waist).

We are going to have hard time scoring on Jaguars, I can see Brady throwing a lot of short passes. This WR group is simply not very talented.

Myles Jack is now full time MLB for Jax and looked great vs. NYG. He looks a bit bigger than he did in January. Very Ulracher-like.

Regards,
Chris

167 rushing yards and 4,9 YPR against Houston is far away from being ok. There were some good plays in that aspect but if we think of winning with Jax it has to change. Running game with Fournette (who is much better than Miller ) and screen passes are trademarks of Jags. I am not worried about our offense because Brady will find holes in Jags' defense. What concerns me most is yards given on the ground.

We will defend Jax differently than we defend Houston

Game opened as a pick-em and now its as high as -2 1/2 Pats.

I'm hoping a healthy Jacob Hollister will come up big as Jax will not pay him much attention.

I agree that Pats D with the additions of Hightower, Bentley. Clayborn will be much improved over last season's playoff addition as the Pats win easy 28-13.
