Re: ridiculous spin on cbssportsline story?

This is why when it comes to Patriots "NEWS", I trust NO ONE but Mike Reiss.
Absolutely pathetic reporting.

The national sports media has become a joke...plain & simple.

I'll admit it bothers me deeply because I know I can no longer believe anything I read. Especially if it's about the Patriots.

Re: espn claims brady is still hurt

censorship, choreographed(however you spell that word) is what all US media is. Starting with Cnn down to ESPN

I'd say Fox News is much, much worse than CNN. I'd also say that CNN is much more respected worldwide than Fox.

I think both are pretty biased and shameless. It just depends on what your political point of view is. Fox just gets more crap because a large majority of the media and entertainment are more on the left side of the isle. That is why the Simpsons will trash Fox News all the time.

Re: espn claims brady is still hurt

ESPN already changed the story. Five minutes ago it was that he is still injured and now they correctly quote him. So fast editing on their part.

At least they fixed it, funny to see two directly opposite articles posted within the span of 5 minutes though.

Wonder what's next...

11:35pm - Benson charged with DWI in 2nd arrest in a month
11:41pm - Benson not charged with DWI in 2nd arrest in a month

If we're going to go down this road, we need to take this to the PoFo.

Because I'd love to go there, just not in the main forum.
(I'm skeered of the mods here!)

Fairness to Fespn?? Bullspit, they should be ashamed to not even check something out before reporting it.

They claim to be number one sports news source in the world?? They suck....they cannot even be bothered with basics. They should have taken the time to undersatnd what Brady was saying before going with such a poorly written AP story.

Once they were a really good organization - my goodness how the mighty have fallen.

Look, I'm not fan of ESPN either, I think when it comes to their own commentary & programs they are biased against the Pats for ratings purposes, but to expect them to vet every article that they post from the AP is silly. The point of a wire service like the AP or Reuters is that they are (usually) a trusted journalistic source and you can confidently run their stories. That wasn't the case here, but it usually is.

Tell you what is really a pathetic indictment of the Boston sports media - Bob Halloran who gets to work on Patriots All Access just because he is a weekend sports anchor at WCVB (that has to be the only reason...) just delivered the same idiotic report on the Saturday 11PM news.

I'm continually amazed that guys who are so disinterested or incompetent they can't handle filling a 3 minute segment on the evening sports without just rehashing stuff they picked up second hand...get paid to work in this market.

I thought Brady had a shoulder injury?

He was listed as probable due to a shoulder injury all last season, and the season before last, and the season before that one, and,,,,,,,

Fact is in this case the misinformation is good for the Pats, keeps people guessing. Which seems to be something the Pats try to do anyway.

It's exceptionally rare that any pro athelete would admit to being injured to the extent that Brady did in the false report. That alone should throw up a red flag that should have prompted ESPN to investigate further. IMO this puts the onus of false reporting clearly on them.

Thats a good point. I bet Eric Managini dusted off Cassel's old high school tapes when he saw this on ESPN.

This thread is hilarious!

The media has done to 'freedom of speech' what **** Chaney did to 'the right to bear arms.'

Lets not go there. Plus everyone know the 2nd amendment is about the our constitutional right to wear tank tops -- the right to bare arms.

Q: What are you looking to improve personally?
TB: I think it’s always team improvement. We’re always trying to find ways to evolve as a team and evolve as an offense. You realize that a lot of the things we did last year probably won’t work this year. It’s important to move forward and understand things that we need to do better. I’m not going to tell you guys [what they are] because I don’t want the Jets to find out. But there is plenty for this team to improve on.

Thats interesting, one guy is too quick to read a story, fails to interpret Brady's typical self-deprecating humour, and a new rumour is born...... several news outfits trip over each other to report it as breaking news......classic!

Brady's probably having a good laugh over this one ESPN should now realize how easy it is to misinterpret a memo...:singing:
