with the way the media is acting like the chargers have absolutely no chance, i cant say that i blame you.

I can't get this dumbass football game off my mind. My wife told me today that after the Patriots lose or after the Super Bowl...whichever come sooner, I will be banned from the plethora of football boards I post to all day long for at least a month. That will kill me. Do I need to seek marriage counseling or jusr file for divorce?

I'm about a 9.5 right now. Teams that are in as much disarray, be it through injury or mild mental ******ation, as the Chargers are at the moment, worry me. If Pig-Pen from Peanuts were a football team, he'd be the Chargers; coming into town with a dirty cloud of crazy floating over his head.

I see this game being much, much closer than everyone seems to be predicting. Heh, I bet you wish I ran a sports book using this sort of illogic, eh?

Began at about a 4 but as the week goes on I get more nervous. Probably pushing a 7 or 8 right now. Keep having flashbacks to last year and freaking out. With the Moss news and the flu crap it's only makeing me feel more worried. Not really worried aobut how they play but more worried about how we execute well (whether we will or won't).

This game has consumed my every thought this entire week. It's pathetic really. I just want the damn game to start. Go Chargers! Oh, as far as a the worry scale goes, I give it a 10.

is she hot?

I am at a 6 at the moment. It has been hovering around a 5 to an 8 all week. Can't wait for the game!!!

8

Have had an irrational bad feeling about this game all week... I know the reasons why the Pats will win... but I'm not confident about it like I have been in the past. Guess I've been buying this 'nothing to lose' argument the Charger fans have been shoveling.

I'm at an 8 as well. I don't like the fact that the Chargers have been embarrassed by this team two games in a row now. Yeah we didn't blow them out in the playoffs last year but it was still an embarrassing loss.

The Chargers are emotional, no doubt, and if they come in and get a lot of pressure and hits on Brady the game could get out of control. I think the Patriots will win and I'm less nervous tha I would be about an Indy rematch but if the weather screws us with heavy winds that negate the passing game it could be much closer than I want.

I thought I might be the only one. This board is sucking up wayy too much time in my life.

How about a board blackout for the next three weeks so we can get something done at work :)

If I were a Chargers fan, I'd be about an 8, so by symmetry arguments I should be at 2.

Unfortunately I'm about a 7. I was 9 before the Colts and Cowboys this year. I was an 8 before Jacksonville.

This would be much better as a poll. I haven't been able to figure out how to insert polls here. Any directions link for that?

Right now I'm watching last years playoff game with the Chargers, I'm about a 5, it'll be up and down until the game, at game time, it's pegged

About a 3. I'm fairly confident the Pats can hold down the Chargers' running game with eight in the box and dare a gimpy Rivers to beat them. I'm also fairly confident the Pats can hold off the Chargers pass rush as they have done to pretty much every team this year. Baltimore probably gave the Pats the hardest time all year with their rush and the Pats were two dropped TDs from putting up 35 points. The Giants and Eagles put on some good pressure and yet the Pats still scored on them. Pittsburgh's blitz was easily held at bay. Now San Diego is coming to town and their pass rush is suddenly the '85 Bears reincarnated? Please. And if the Chargers new superhero Cromartie plays exclusively at RCB, he'll barely see Moss as he'll line up opposite Jammer.

The only reason I give this a 3 instead of a 1 is that it's one game and strange things can happen in one game. I don't see Matt Light getting abused by Merriman, but it could happen. I don't see LT running for 135yds, but it could happen. I don't see Rivers or Volek torching the Pats, but it could happen. San Diego needs a lot to go right to win and although I think the odds are very much against them, the possibility is still there.

Regards,
Chris

I think we are going to win this game comfortably. As of now, the only thing Im nervous about is how Randy will respond on the field.

8. Gametime will probably be a 9. 10 gets reserved for playing the Colts in Indy.

Charger fan here, me, I'm really not that worried about this game. Why? Because I don't think we have much of a chance to win, so nothing to really get nervous about. Rivers on crutches, Tomlinson injured, Gates probably won't play. That means potential second stringers for 60 minutes.

This is what we have to offer against an experienced and proven 3 time championship team, healthy, and playing at home in the cold.

The only way we win, IMO, is if the Chargers dig deep, deep, deep down, come out and play a "We are Marshall" type game and the Pats somehow manage to implode at the same time.
