OT: Polian complaining about no delay of game penalties...

On the Dale/Holley show, they played a portion of Polien's show about teh lack of DOG penalties when the clock is down to zero...He was complaining that after it hit zero some officials were waiting a bit to throw the flag... As AS pointed out on teh show, the league thought a few years ago TOO MANY delay penalties were being called..and that THAT was not good for viewers..and the Competition Committee (that Polien was on..) OKAYED that and basically wanted the refs to give a bit of time for that. Funny how big mouth Polien is complaining now about what HIS COMMITTEE did and HE did not fight a few years ago.

I think the only rules Polian can change that would have helped are making blocking on a Peyton Manning interception illegal (which almost worked on that B.S. holding call) and lifting the ban on stickum.

Yeah.. how many times have we seen Peyton get 45 seconds to run a play? Polian can go right to hell, he created this mess. Just like when Colts fans boo an illegal contact call, blame your GM.

I think the only rules Polian can change that would have helped are making blocking on a Peyton Manning interception illegal (which almost worked on that B.S. holding call) and lifting the ban on stickum.

Maybe they can got those on the back of the cards given to each Colt lineman giving them the right to block downfield before a screen pass.

I don't get what he's complaining about, the rule on delay of game is very clear. When the clock gets down to zero, THEN the official looks down at the quarterback to ensure that the ball hasn't been snapped, and only then do they throw a flag. Zero on the playclock is the last chance to snap the ball. Maybe he doesn't like the rule and can get it changed, but there's no issue with enforcement.

Also don't forget that the clock that we
see may not be the official one which is
why maybe it sems a penalty should
have been called and was not.

After the refs all but tried to hand the game to the Colts and stole a touchdown from Cromartie, with those phantom PI calls and this piece of dirt had the audicity to complain about the officials, a group that he more than likely personally manipulated prior to the game. Man, sour grapes do taste kind of nasty.

I only seen one play by the Chargers where the clock was at 0 when the ball was snapped. Not a big deal, it wasn't flagged but didnt change the outcome of the game. Polian is a moron sometimes

You can listen to it yourself. It's about 24 minutes into the "Bill Polian show", under Video/audio on the right hand side. You can advance it to 24 minutes if you don't wat to listen to all the Colts talk. Talk about the delay of game non call came about from a fan call-in, and I can't really fault the guy (Polian) on his answer on this one. I stopped listening after that and don't know if the bad calls that helped the Colts ever came up. Probably not.

He's whining about it being too subjective, but so are PI calls and he's not complaing about the poor judgment (and that's an understatement) on those calls in that game. He's a loser, and a sore one at that.
