Re: Bigger impact - Seymour's mouth or his game?

Can someone possibly be anymore of a knucklehead than this OP? Seymour gets doubled by a couple of tanks every game that are likely pushing 320, on at least half the plays he lines up, and youre gonna call the man out? This is about the most humble, anonymous star player anyone will ever meet. Shut your friggin' cake hole and go sell your brownies already.

Re: Bigger impact - Seymour's mouth or his game?

Really? Richard had things to say about Deion Branch leaving and he had things to say about the coaching staff last season after he played like a dog all year long. Now this season we get the he hurt his knee 2 1/2 years ago spin? This knee was so damaged it required a minor scope procedure not a major surgery. It's affected him for 2 1/2 years? He's making excuses for playing like a dog since he signed a big contract a couple of years ago. Richard needs to shut up and play. We'll see if he makes an impact in the playoffs this season. Big Sey has been a non-factor on this team.... for 2 years running.

This sounds like complete acceptance of the Jackie MacMullen article from the Globe.

First, Seymour was asked how he felt about Branch leaving and said "To not have No. 83 in uniform definitely hurts." Did he critique the organization himself? No. Did the local media spin it that way? Yes. Second, in that crap MacMullen article, his exact quotes were about recovering from the knee injury that sidelined him the first 7 games. He did not critique anyone, and his personal trainer indicated Seymour would not like him stating his (the trainer's theory) on how he got injured.

So setting aside Boston media spin, how does that constitute saying anything about coaching? When reading articles about players, look for the things in quotation marks next to the player's name - that's what they said. The rest is the author's "reasonable inferences" from the statement. The players tend not to write the articles on themselves, so you may want to question whether the writer has an axe to grind with someone on the team, maybe someone like, oh I don't know, Belichick?

As for him playing like a dog the last 2 years, his stats last year look much like the stats in 2004 (that would be the last Superbowl season you may recall). As for this year, maybe you are Superman but professional athletes coming off knee injuries mid-season may not work at peak levels. I suspect, unless Belichick is an idiot, that Seymour at half-speed is better than everything else available at full.

Can we merge this with the Maroney is Glass and Merriweather is a bust threads. Throw the Macmullen crap in there too.

Did you read where that Mcmullen biatch called Delrio "cerebral"? Might as well call Einstein.

Re: Bigger impact - Seymour's mouth or his game?

Hey Richard, a self promoting man's man doesn't make excuses.
Big Sey has been a Big Zero for 2 years running. Will he show up in the playoffs? I have my doubts.

This is a typical attention whore post. The day of a playoff game and this is what you are thinking.

Talk about a self-promoting, "Big Zero", this post has to be in the top 5. Trolls couldn't have done better.

Yet another no show game by Big Sey. Well looks like my question was answered. Big Sey's mouth is the bigger impact. His game is nowhere to be seen. It's been hiding under that big fat contract he signed for 2 years now.

What game were you watching? Seymour had a great game, the best player on the defense last night. If you're going to talk sh*t at least know what you're talking about.

jones drew jr cant break plays to the outside like maroney did why?

because seymour was playing on the end.

Jones as a rb is more agile than maroney and his break away speed is just as fast.

WTF are you talking about, do you need attention or maybe a good slap.. what you need to do is study and learn about this defense and their roles... he played well last night.. did you notice that we held the Jags RB to 80 yards.. this is pretty impressive.. this is a team defense and not an individual stat driven defense. Seymour was also in the backfield quite a bit as well.

Jeez, you're an idiot. You have less of an argument after the game than you did before. how many running yards did Jax get towards his side? You don't know much about the game , do you?

What are your thoughts on the LB's and the secondary?

Yeah, you either didn't watch the game or you have no idea what you're looking at. There is more to defense that what you see on ESPN's box score.

I vote for door #2! Come back after you've learned a little football Rhody.

These are the geniuses that complain that Seymour doen't get as many sacks as Freeney or Taylor, exposing their ignorance of the game and the fact a 3-4 end at over 300 lbs. is in no way comparable to a 4-3 pass rusher at 255-260.

The announcers were amazed at the play where Seymour tipped the pas then turned around and tackled Drew from behind.

At least with Simms you have one guy who, unlike OP, knows football.

Oh, good. Another football genius!

The OP appears to be a fantasy type person & just wants to see sack totals!

Rhody, I think you need to use this right before next week's game.

I'd like to join the chorus in asking what the hell game were you watching last night?

As will I. I have been a critic of Sey but anyone who was watching the game
last night couldn't possibly come up with a criticism of his performance, which
was excellent.
