I think it’s like the legal tampering period. Teams cutting players can tell them they want to bring them back on the PS so there’s no reason to prohibit informal contact with other teams. Signings have to wait until waivers are cleared for youngsters, or whenever the window opens for vets.

The only benefit is that during the season, teams don't have to spend a DTR until the team thinks the player is ready. Putting them on DTR today uses up the DTR now.

Of note, The Pats only used 1 of the 2 IR Designations as far as I can tell and that was on Bryant.

Means that Brown and Baringer may only miss 1-2 games. But that could change if they IR them tomorrow.

Why would they use a roster slot only to IR them tomorrow? Only way that makes sense is to open a slot for an incoming trade.

Keeping f'in Woods over Vildor is a travesty. Woods is a 5th/6th type whereas Vildor can step in and start if needed.

I agree with regard to Jacobs and Hutchins. However, I think of Jacobs as an ILB. I think that even could be ahead of bot Ster Brit and STer Obuazor.

When I look at our EDGE rushers, I see Jones & Ponder and Ponder & Jones plus others who shouldn't be on the field at that position.

While I am always into the draft, I'm not even close to guys like Manx and Mayo, but I think the way most of us evaluate Day 3 of the draft is familiarity. If they take guys we know then we are ok with it, and if they take binkies we love it, but if we haven't heard of them we pan it.

One of the talking heads -I think it was Alex Barth but am not positive- said that his brother Nick claims he’s unofficially retired and has no intention of playing again.

I felt Gibbens was overpaid.

He's guaranteed over three times Jennings.

I thought Jennings was the better player.

It is not. DTRs used before cutdowns count toward the regular-season limit of 8.

Occasionally a team needs to use cap money for a rent-a-player for the current season or for 2 seasons.

Unless we think that Ponder is a solid starter AND Landry will be strong soon, we need to sign an EDGE rusher. The bar is very, very low. We are talking about moving ahead of Jacas or Hutchins in the depth chart,
