I don't see a case for him over any of these guys. He is closer to a top 15 QB than 5 imo.

Can't say with certainty I would take him over Starr, Unitas, or Staubach either.

Never saw anyone play before the late 80s, but here's who I'd put, in no particular order, ahead of Brees (stats do the heavy lifting for QBs before my time):

Brady
Montana
Marino
Starr
Unitas
Staubach (this dude is criminally underrated)
Elway
Manning
Mahomes

When it comes to Tarkenton, Young, Rodgers and Favre, I think they're right there with Brees somewhere. Total tossup.

I've got Brees ahead of Moon, Warner, Kelly and those types. Don't think I forgot anyone?

That list is okay but I'd move Mahomes up a bit, ahead of Elway, Manning and Staubach

Meant to say "in no particular order". Other than Brady and Montana, I'm kinda agnostic on the particulars of where the next tranche is ranked, since you can make arguments for one or the other, depending on what matters more between stats, winning pct, Super Bowl wins, comebacks, etc.
