To use a Jerrah Jones expression it wasn't all smiles and glory holes, but it was a day that should help settle down some angst-filled NE fans.

Even better that AJB and the rest of the passing offense had a strong day against AJ's former team.

One quote:

Brown burnt his former team with relative ease. Romeo Doubs made an incredible catch over a defender in the end zone. And Maye spread the ball around, showing off his accuracy with passes over the middle of the field.

He’s very special, and he makes my job a lot easier, and just learning how he sees the game, and just getting on the same page,” Brown said of Maye. “ … He has a lot of arm talent. He can place the ball anywhere.”

The article also suggests the NE running game might not be where we want it to be, and pass protection might need work.

A lot of caveats apply, especially since it's just practice, but it is nice to read that the passing attack looks very good.

The #1 OL fivesome just needs to stay healthy and decently productive…

Its very encouraging so far

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but AJB's praise of both Maye's on-field talent and Josh's offensive scheme are not just encouraging, but also feel like he's drawing an unspoken comparison to Hurts and the Philly offensive staff.

From my point of view that's all good. I'm happy if AJB plays with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove.

I too think its a message. fwiw a comment on the eagles Reddit say they haven’t seen him move like this since 22. But he has impressed universally at least to some degree among the more reputable sources. Certainly points towards him still being a certified wr1
