really, it appears to be a fair market deal for Henry as well as team friendly.

HH was pretty much guaranteed $7m this year. he was not going to be cut, obviously.
If he went into free agency next year, what would his market have been, going into his age 33 years. (Dec 7)
is a team giving HH 1 year at $13m? Guaranteed? 2 years at $20m with $13m of it guaranteed?
I kind of doubt that.
does he even want to play another 3 years? or does he prefer year to year.
it would seem he is where he wants to play, has about $20m available if he is healthy, and he is a team leader/captain. prob something will be available to him in the area post career if he wants that.

Yes that is his market. That is why he signed the deal. 2 years 16 mill 14.5 guaranteed and potential to earn 20 with incentives.

Exactly and instead of receiving the money per game, the player is paid up front in 1 lump sum since it is signing bonus. That much money invested now in this market must be a pretty penny.
