PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP 2026 Patriots Training Camp Day 7

At least we know Gilliam is open and trying to adjust to Josh's system. That is a big step if he thinks he can adapt and tries. We got Hollins from the Bills and that worked out too.
Buffalo still runs the Erhardt-Perkins system.

Jacas should not end up in #50 until he proves it. Right now it's an insult to Vrabel and Ninko.
Let Vrabes hold the pad for Jacas. If Jacas bowls him over like he did that other coach he wins the right to wear #50 without anybody giving him **** about it. If Vrabes won’t step up and defend his number Gabe gets rights to it by default.

Let the games begin!

Gilligan was talking about Devlin and the role that FBs play in McDaniels offense.

He mentioned that NE moves you all over the field - split out wide and everything. Im hopeful that Gilligan makes plays out of the gate and that his role expands.
For a second there, I was wondering if Skipper was the owner of the 33d NFL team on the island.

Mr Howell and he would never serve baloney.

I have zero concerns with Jacas.
really, how quickly can he understand the defense, and start contributing?
game 4? 6? 8?
if Landry is healthy, I expect Jacas to be 4th or 5th man up.
he has plenty of time to acclimate, and he looks like he is in great shape.
let the knee get stronger, and start understanding the defense

100 quatloos on the newcomer!

He was up because Moses had the day off. Big stretch from filling in because of a Vet Maintenance Day and making the roster.
Yes, I know this. I mentioned it because he was never listed in the top 3 OL units for warmups in the first few days of training camp. It's a big jump for him and I'm rooting for him to make the roster because I think he has talent and athleticism. It sucks everyone knows him because of the wild sequesnce of penalties against Dallas. He will push Bryant or less likely Crownover off that last OT spot.

Edit: and I already mentioned about him making the roster before, not because Moses gets a day off.

So happy to see Jacas out there - even in warmups, he has speed and power right out the gate. This is going to help.
Again - I'm so low on Landry. I can't see him being worth a snap when you have Ponder, Swinson & Jacas as young guys at full strength.

I won’t be surprised to see Ponder and Jacas as the starters, Swinson and Landry as rotational depth. That will help protect Landry and develop the youngsters. In my optimistic fantasies I hope to see Jacas as a DROY dark horse.

“Breakneck”
I likey…

Paywalled for me.

Try this way - well worth a read.

Hurry-up is always better for the offense (apart from 5-minute drill of course). Pass-rushers and man defenders get tired quicker than your guys. Pats were one of the slowest teams last year - I bet they will be among the quickest this year.

I mean, I am assuming D. Jones will lock down one side. With both Jacas or Swinson spelling him. And Ponder probably owning the other side at this moment. Although it will be super exciting if/when we see Jacas & Swinson at Edge on the same play. Hopefully we can really develop these 3 young guys.
It was also good to hear Gainer had a rushing win - not sure what position he was lined up at though?

I wouldn't doubt if Landry retires. we've been reading negative updates on his progress from the start.

on pure pass rush downs, Jones will kick inside some and spell Barmore/Williams some, probably Barmore more. That will leave both Edge spots open for whoever our best combo ends up being.
I expect Jacas to contribute very early in the season.

We should be excited for the entire OLB group.

Harold Landry, Elijah Ponder, Gabe Jacas, Bradyn Swinson… that’s an abundance of riches assuming health.
Dre'mont Jones.
