Boutte available for trade?

I believe those names are from the 2022 draft; Corky was drafted in 2021...
I think Rain was comparing them to Cole Strange who was drafted in 2022. Bill did a lot of dumb things after Brady left and that was one of them.

My mistake. I thought "Corky" was Strange.

Jones, Parsons and Darrisaw were mocked to the Pats in 2021.

We needed a QB, a DT a RB and an OL. Apparently, Bill liked Barmore and Mills. I suspect that we would have drafted Parsons, but he was gone. AVT was gone also. I think that a trade down would likely have gotten us Barmore with Mills at 38 instead of Barmore, or perhaps after a trade down. Bill would have his two choices plus a pick or two. I expect that Bill still would still have gotten a RB in the 3rd or 4th (we got Stevenson).

But Bill was overruled, and the extra pick(s) probably wouldn't have helped. The draft was a weak one and our drafters seem unlikely to find another contributor. However, we got 3 starters. In the end, I suspect that the 2021 and 2022 turmoil and change in coaching doomed the team more the choice of Jones over Mills. Jones was certainly rated much higher than Mills.

I suspect that 4 years of Josh and staff would have made Jones or Mills an acceptable playoff quality QB, but obviously not a superstar.

Maybe we could band together as a region and try to make a package trade deal for Boutte and Jaylen Brown.
Agreed. He’d check a lot of boxes of need for us.

-WR w/ elite catch radius/blocking/body control, RZ threat
-TE that can win down the seam & flex out, RZ
-Coverage LB (needs to bulk up a bit; maybe 10-15 lbs..he’d be our Nick Emmanwori/ Kyle Hamilton….)
-Edge rusher w/ elite first step, bend & wingspan (again; maybe add about 15 lbs)
-CB if we mistakenly decide not to pay Gonzo, Brown would slide right in & erase opposing receivers.
-Championship pedigree, winner, high IQ, already acclimated to the area.

It makes sense…The only obstacle would be the logistics of his contract, because Maye, Gonzo & AJ are due big money soon. I do like the value though…

Do you think Derek Stingley checks his closet for Kayshon Boutte every night?… He has to have nightmares of The Boutteman..

One more and I am done. You clearly misunderstood what Kraft said. I and others have posted a direct quote from Kraft where he said he never took any personnel power away from Belichick and he always had final say on personnel. Everyone who has reported it including reporters YOU CITED said Belichick had final say and with the Mac Jones pick he decided to go with the the group consensus rather than overrule them.

And in fact, the reports mentioned that he actually Jones as a player, but just rather not draft a QB in the first round. That is probably why he passed on Lamar Jackson when McDaniels advocated for him. He just doesn't like to draft QBs in the first round.

I said I don't trust what either Kraft or Belichick say publicly. But the inside reports back Kraft's side of the story that Belichick maintained full control of personnel, but just agreed with Kraft to allow others provide input in the draft selection. But at any time, Belichick had the right to overrule the consensus. He chose not to with the Mac Jones pick.

Curran reported the same thing. It doesn't matter how much proof you provide, and it doesn't matter how much credit you give Belichick. Nothing is ever enough for Wozzy. Like signbabybrady you can tell him that Belichick is the greatest coach and GM in NFL history, but if you give him any blame for anything you are a Belichick " hater!" Wozzy won't even acknowledge that Kraft gave Belichick full control of football operations when he gave up high picks to sign him, and this is 100% common knowledge and well documented.
