Sleight of hand doesn’t change a 1st round pick to something else.

Just muddies the water.

In April of 2028 we will know for sure if they traded a 1st round pick.
It does to a degree. If we land a stud in the 1st round of the 2027 draft who helps us big time in the 2027 season, then that value-add has to figured into the equation, which would be expressed as a discount off the 2028 1st. We get tangible value for the 2027 season that we wouldn't have had otherwise.

Well, the Eagles were rumored to have offered Brown as part of a package for Garrett to the Browns.
That’s done.
Wouldn’t be stupid to drag this out a bit.
And the other reported bidder for Brown was who? Right, the Rams. Presumably they’re out now.

So the Garrett deal removes Rams as the last apparent competitor.
I’d carefully delay.

If AJB comes in and has a successful seasons this year and next, and that 28 pick is 29th or lower, are we still gonna ***** about this trade. Just wondering

They subtracted one and added one, and expect a second year jump. They are not desperate.
Expect and hope isnt a plan.

The 2026 schedule is night and day harder than 2025. Today, the Pats WR room is worse than 2025. If the Brown doesnt happen NE is back to begging Diggs to come back.
Philly has more incentive to trade him now than to wait. Gunner Olsheiwski lol.
You told me that WRs dont go down in the offseason.

The Giants just had to sign Odell Beckam. Season ending injuries definitely occur and Roseman holds all the cards.
There is no certainty that injuries will happened, that the team it happens to can afford Brown that they would offer more than is on the table, or that they want him, not to mention that he will want to go there. NFL teams typically do not pass up a deal today for one that might possibly under certain circumstances maybe come up later.

Again, we disagree. And we will see.
If the Pats are the only team in the market today and they try and lowball. the Eagles are not over a barrel because NE needs Brown more than Philly needs him.

Yeah there were rumors of the Rams, Browns, and Jags. The Rams and Browns are now out. I don't think the Jags were ever actually in it.

Thanks to Howie Roseman.
I don't think any of these teams were ever in it.

The Howie Roseman gargling by some in here is pretty bizarre.
Most likely.

I would have done Gonzo for Garrett and a first over Brown. DOPY and if you can't throw, you don't need a number 1 corner.

Rams might have just won another SB if he stays healthy.

Roseman's been fleecing and taking advantage of teams for quite a while. We are obviously next.

That's the best-case scenario. What has many of us concerned is something other than the best-case scenario.

People are making waaayyy too much about Brown’s knee issues. He’s only missed 8 games in 7 seasons, he’s a professional who’s taken care of his body, whatever treatment/regimen he’s been receiving is most certainly top tier (given his Pro-Bowl/All-Pro status) & lastly…if Vrabel feels comfortable with it, that’s all that matters. Especially, considering Vrabel’s notorious detestation of soft tissue injuries. I’d honestly, be a bit more concerned about the hamstring injuries. Yes, **** happens, but we need to take risks sometimes if we want to win another championship. Scared money don’t make no money…Guys…we’re literally about to acquire an All-Pro WR in his prime. Relax..Have a coke & a smile….

IMO, this is a lame duck year for Nick Sirianni. They will replace him in 2027 and the new coach will do one year with Jalen Hurts as a "transition year" before Hurts also gets shipped out in 2028 for a couple firsts, or around that, for draft capital and to save cap space. So in 2028 they will have 3 firsts (their own, the Patriots', and the team that acquired Hurts) in the second year of the new HC's tenure to retool the roster.

At least that is what I see happening anyway.
I really doubt that anyone is going to give up a couple of first for Hurts. He's never been very good except as a running back, and time is running out on that.

AJ Brown is a true number one for a team that needs one. Drake Maye is not TB12. He’s not going to make Kayshon Boutte a number 1 or Pop Douglas a starter no matter how much we all hope for that to happen.

2028 1st isn’t nothing but it’s also not the terrible trade that many people a doomcasting here because in Boston sports it’s “divas” and “superstars” bad, “blue collar lunch pail and dirt dogs” good.

The pick will be between 26-32 more than likely.

Horrendous deal. 2 years of Brown for a 1st in any year is stupid. Unless they are getting a 3rd back.
He'll be 29 not 32 we have three maybe Four years.
