They definitely could have used him in the conference game…..Garrett is a force
The Browns are rumored to be seeking crazy compensation for Garrett.

He is the Franchise similar to when Barry Sanders was the Lions.

I really dont like the 1st round pick being floated. How about a 2nd in 2028 and a 3rd in 2027?

Us or Philly?
Patriots.

This whole thing reminds me of the late 2010s when the Patriots drafts suffered and the team had a lack of talent. We lost premium draft picks because of several trades and because of deflategate. Some years our first pick was in the 3rd round. When we look back on thos years, yes, the team was loaded and didn't have much space for rookies, but the talent depletion happened, and everyone was underwhelmed by those drafts.

But when you actually look at the drafts, you can also see that we had so few picks.
And man, the 2nd rounder for Mohamed Sanu!

People don't understand how difficult it is to win the superbowl. We are spoiled. When you have a team that can challenge for one, you have to do everything you can to push yourself over the top. Additionally, usually those top teams have players in place who won't be quickly displaced by rookies, if you are contending do you really want to replace better players with players with potential who will make your team worse this year?

Interesting maybe a 4th in 2027 and First in 2028. We keep most of our 2027 Draft which will be a Very Strong Draft. I said it before and will say it again the 2028 Draft is going be WEAK!

I don't know who this guy is, but he does have 17k followers.

As this potentially approaches, a view of the very complex cap costs of AJ Brown.

AJ Brown has maybe the most complex contract in the NFL. He signed an extension with the Eagles that has a large signing bonus, which the Eagles will eat, but also a series of "void year" payments.

In the short-term, his contract is extremely cap-friendly.
According to CBS, his baseline cap costs:
2026 $6.79M
2027 $11.0M
2028 $17.9M
2029 $23.6M

However. there is a $53.5M void year dead-cap charge in 2030 that transfers to the team inheriting him. If you restructured the deal to accomodate the void charges that would add $13M per year. Assuming you are carrying Maye, Gonzalez, and Campbell on their second contracts in 2030, they may want to restructure that.
