This is absolute elite, and it wasn't the only one.
Boutte at some point in the last season was pointing to a 1000 yards season, but injuries set him back. 2024 season he already showed some chemistry with Maye. I felt like they should have extended him before, but the timing wasn't right for him and now he's caught in a numbers game with Dobbs and Brown signings. Still, as a #3 he can have his best season this far, it's up to him, or move on to some place where he still won't be a #1 and chances to strike gold in the next free agency are not much better.
From the Patriots side, I'd wait. Up until the beginning of the season, at some point in OTAs, training camp and 1st quarter of the season some "name" WR will be out for the season due to ACL or something else, and then we are looking at a 4th rounder at least. Maybe more than 1 WR, hopefully none from the Patriots.
Lets hope we are Top 10 in running and passing. I think the balance is more important than an individual ranking.Top 5?..
What would be the role of a 5th or 6th WR?I expect us to have a primary set of Brown, Doubs, Henry, and Hollins, with Williams getting occasional reps.
What percentage of the reps for WR's and TE's are left for anyone else?
#2 TE?
#3 TE?
#5 WR?
#6 WR?
Someone mentioned we were 4th in running the ball last season? I didn't see a running game that warranted the 4th ranking? If so?Lets hope we are Top 10 in running and passing. I think the balance is more important than an individual ranking.
The stats I saw say the Pats were Top 10 in rushing yards per game, but EPA/rush was roughly top half of the league. The difference is a matter of efficiency. The Pats rushed for a lot of yards per game, but were not very effective is yards per attempt. The passing game allowed a lot more 1st downs that led to more rushing attempts. That is why we signed Hill and Gilliam in FA.Someone mentioned we were 4th in running the ball last season? I didn't see a running game that warranted the 4th ranking? If so?
Great read here. Thank you! Very helpful! Yes that's is an accurate summary of our running game and again I cannot overstate how important it is to have a coach like Vrabel who's lived it! Who knows what a championship team looks like. Getting 5 YPC this season shouldn't be that difficult with the additions as you mentioned and another huge one incoming post june 1.The stats I saw say the Pats were Top 10 in rushing yards per game, but EPA/rush was roughly top half of the league. Also remember that our 2025 strength of schedule was historically weak. We will be rushing, on average over the season, against stronger defenses this year.

I want him on the team this season.Posters in this thread have been hyping up Boutte for the sole reason they just want his trade value up.

This is where stats like being "4th in running the ball" can be misleading. While Henderson has the game breaking ability, he's not a consistent bell cow back....yet. He's also not the most powerful when it's short yardage time. That haunts you in big games. The stats I saw say the Pats were Top 10 in rushing yards per game, but EPA/rush was roughly top half of the league. The difference is a matter of efficiency. If he actually has the nerve to ask for a trade, then the Pats will unload him quickly. Like Joe Milton, these are the type of players you can't have in the locker room. His best move is to man up and work on proving he's better than Doubs and Hollins. If he has a problem with that competition, then it's a no brainer to get rid of him.I want him on the team this season.
Agreed!!!! Rham was excellent down the stretch last season.. I had posted around the end of last season his interview with PFT and how he opened up about his father and how it of course had an effect on him mentally as his father was his biggest supporter.. once he compartmentalized that he got into a zone.. however we still need more in our running game.. the way this teams constructed we shouldn't be seing loses in the back field..or can pick up 3rd and 2 or for goodness sake playes like that Cincinnati game goal like embarrassment..last seasonThis is where stats like being "4th in running the ball" can be misleading. Rham, on the other hand, has been mediocre since Harris left. No teams are afraid of his lack of explosion to the 2nd level. While Rham took a beating for the team in the playoffs, he was doing just enough. I do think this is Rham's last season with the team and Henderson should get more touches.
O-line was not a good run blocking unit which didn't help matters.
Maye also skews the stats with his 450 yards.

Players shelf life in the NFL is not long…I never criticize them for wanting to get as much $ as they can. I was not aware he asked for a trade however…do you have a link?If he actually has the nerve to ask for a trade, then the Pats will unload him quickly.
I said "if" he asks for a trade. I really don't know this all started, but the media has been pushing this lately. Curran is now chiming in which his argument doesn't make any sense and an oxymoron. If anything, he's desperately trying to help the Pats hype him up to get a team to overpay.Players shelf life in the NFL is not long…I never criticize them for wanting to get as much $ as they can. Henderson's inability to pass block seemed to be his biggest problem. It's why as the season went on you saw Rhamondre out there more on passing downs, even though a faster RB who can catch would be the better option. Henderson has to learn how to block to become a three down back like Rhamondre. This is where stats like being "4th in running the ball" can be misleading. Take away the fumbles to start the season, the overall poor blocking by the offense, Josh's bland play calling and Rhamondre had a good season. He made Henderson's life a lot easier by taking those early rushing downs, which allowed Henderson to enter the game as a change of pace guy. Rhamondre tenderized them for him.Rham, on the other hand, has been mediocre since Harris left. No teams are afraid of his lack of explosion to the 2nd level. I do think the media has accounts on this board.Pretty Sure Rkarp is Curran. Get open more and he'd get the ball more.
Boutte played the 2nd most WR snaps on the team... he had 500 yards receiving.
Unquestionably, we start conversations here, within a day the talking heads are repeating talking points formulated here.I do think the media has accounts on this board.
Yep. I've made this observation before that this is best place for the media to gauge how Pats fans are feeling and what we are talking about.Unquestionably, we start conversations here, within a day the talking heads are repeating talking points formulated here.
I just realized I saw that before too.Get open more and he'd get the ball more.
