Maybe not pats related any more but diggs ended up not guilty

B.t.w. as many have forgotten, Diggs had1,013 receiving yards in 17 games. Real production for our team. He was the team's first 1,000-yard receiver since Julian Edelman in 2019. Dummies..hollins boutte not in his sphere. Gone in my book. Brown, doubs, Diggs. Nothing less for

He led the leauge with Josh Allen in 20...

If pats bring him back anything less than 1000 yds imo will be kinda mediocre.

(Unless brown just mogs him with a 1000 plus yard season himself.)

How nice would it be to have two 1000 yd receivers... Brown has done that before with Devonta Smith.

If they bring Diggs back, great, but I don’t see it happening. What I really like about Doubs and if we get Brown, they both are really good route runners with excellent hands. They get open a ton. Would be difficult to key on one, the other will burn you. They aren’t speed demons, but they will be extremely key targets for Maye. And let’s not forget Boutte and Hollins, both guys Maye likes to throw to as well. They EACH had over 500+ yards receiving, so Maye will go to them as well. And of course our 2nd leading receiver as far as catches and yards, TE Hunter Henry is still here, and hopefully he mentors Eli Raridon, who may be a sneaky target for Maye during his rookie season.

Hopefully they get Brown, he would be an important addition. The WR corps would probably be good without him, but they certainly would be much better if they got him.
I don't know if they'll be "much" better with Brown, but they'll be better.
If they get Brown and bring in Diggs again for this year - it will be the best WR corps Maye throws to for his entire career.

I would be fine with 250 catches and 2500 yards from the top 3 receivers, if the Patriots add another couple thousand on the ground. If you bring Diggs back, he's going to solely play slot. 1000 yards is a lot to ask from that spot, when you have other places you can go with the ball (for someone who doesn't love throwing a) short and b) in the middle of the field)

Not even close for the amount of money that was due to him. And it took him 17 games just to crack 1,000. As I've pointed out before, Welker and especially Edelman were paid peanuts as slot receivers with better (Welker) or equal production (Edelman) in 16 game seasons. Why would you take on a cap number of $26.5M for a for a 33 year old coming off an ACL tear to play the slot? The majority of his yards came against bad teams in blow out wins where he probably wasn't even needed. The only two games he put the team on his back were at Buffalo and at Baltimore. He had many no shows throughout the season and had no shot of doing anything during the playoffs with how bad the OL was.

It was an easy decision to decline his cap number.

The ONLY way Diggs returns is if somehow the AJB trade doesn't materialize. He was a good leader last year and probably worth 1n the 12-15 million range on a one year deal with at least 2/3rds based on production and snaps or maybe a 2 yr deal if the if the 2nd year is a a phony as his last deal was
