Yes, but AJ Brown has something of a say in the matter. He doesn't have a no-trade clause, but trading him some place against his will is unlikely.
It's a done deal of some sort. Now Roseman needs to save face after asking for the moon and receiving no takers, so my prediction is it includes one or more other players as well. I'd predict a 2028 1st and some players to muddy the picture.
The four teams he's said to prefer are the bills, the chiefs, the chargers and the Pats... And I would never discount nick caserio in Houston getting involved... He turns up like a bad penny all too often when it comes to "ptp"

who knows if those teams are still interested in Brown now... Especially after the draft and free agency... It's not out of the realm of possibility that we reel him in... But I think the eagles will work the phones trying to get the best deal for themselves... Roseman is too good a gm not to...

Let's hope that doesn't happen our current WR Room is not built for prime time.

I think if we (read Vrabes here) really want AJ, then Pats shouldnt give up more than a 2027 2d rounder.

What will actually be given = ???. They could give a 28 1-rounder just so Roseman looks good, but I think that would be silly.
- I seriously doubt they give up a 27 1st, because they have Philly half way over the table now that they drafted a wr Rd1 and picked up other FAs. NE isnt the one that needs to throw more in the pot.
- I dont like the idea of giving away any last-year players, but with all those UDFAs we have tons of wrs now. LOL. seriously, if they did include a player in the AJ trade - I suspect it would NOT BE A WR. ... ( things that make you go hmmmm )

Im not sure how valid Jills Queefs and Chaaagehs are for AJ options.
-- Buff & KC wr rooms I think are mostly full.
---Also KC isnt interested in guys who dont have a defense attorney on speed dial.
---Buffy might play w Philly just to up the ante for the Pats, but I dont think they are a serious bidder.
-- LAC I-m not sure - dont have an informed opinion about their depth or interest, i just doubt it for default sake.

Interesting how the fire has finally been lit in Buffalo and they are suddenly linked to any WR rumored to be on the outs. All 4 rumored teams (Bills, Chiefs, Chargers and Pats) would be good fits.

Im pretty sure it is a done deal with the Patriots for a 2028 1st or a 2027 second and will be announced June 1. But we shall see.

I'd prefer to do multiple picks instead of a 2... Like a 3/4 or some mix and match pairing...

The only real hesitation I have is will rkk be willing to write the check when gonzo and maybe will be breaking the bank in consecutive years

More worried about the money aspect turtling the trade

Not to poo-poo your worries, but I think money mgmt is a wolf strong suit. I don’t 5hink they can redo an AJ deal this year, but next for sure. Gonzo will be expensive and Drake too, but they can be time-amortized (both spreading out start dates of big hits and spread the wealth into the future). Lots of dead money years is not good, but every team carries some kind of dead cap. Cutting or trading AJ in 2-3 years while still having a top 5 player on each side of ball is quite manageable.

I predict Brown goes to KC for 2027 2nd. Pats are always just "in the conversation" and used as leverage.
I bet the Chiefs will at least make an offer. They're really desperate to make Mahomes look better than he did last season. He was absolutely terrible not even a year after the league fired the pro Chiefs refs and he's got that reputation now. I can see them overpaying for Brown.

For all my life, businesses have honored such deals. If they have a firm deal, it WILL be honored.

It is truky horrible business practice to pull out of such deals.

That being said, there can be condtions such as a physical.

That's how I'm seeing it too.

It's pretty obvious Philly ran their draft knowing AJB was leaving there, and we ran ours knowing AJB was coming here.

If either party backed out, man, it would be a real problem.

And yet, yes, physicals are a thing. However, I think we can presume due diligence has been done.

Why would Philly even agree with that though?

Are we offering so much that another team wouldn't maybe offer better in a month when he's actually available?

It doesn't make sense that Philly would be afraid they couldn't get a 2028 first or 2027 second from some team when they decide to trade AJ Brown. The guy's a stud.

Looking around what do other #1 1000 yard WR's with a bad QB go for? It seems we would be paying much more than people think to get Philly to agree to a trade a month in advance.

Its a done deal according to my sources. Its for a 2028 1st round pick. That way we can trade down in the 2027 draft and recoup the pick.

OK, I’ll be that guy, because it COULD happen.

Vrabel’s affinity to Brown is well-known, and that would be a driving force to why the Pats would be the most likely destination, but what would happen to the Brown deal if Vrabel ends up stepping away from Pats?
