2025 Draft: RBs

One of my 'this could get interesting' guys

6035 and 263 - Parker is a big boy too. Maybe he would be good as a run stopping and pass rushing DE, even though he is not outstanding at either.

From the freaks list

No. 58 Kaelon Black, Indiana, running back

One of the former James Madison players who followed Curt Cignetti to Bloomington, the 5-10, 210-pounder rushed for 251 yards and two TDs in limited action. Black vertical jumped 40 inches, bench pressed 415 pounds and squatted over 500 this summer.

“He’s our biggest Freak for sure,” said DL Mikail Kamara. “When he lifts, everything moves so fast. He’s ridiculous. I’ve never seen him struggle (in the weight room). I saw him bench press 415 the other day, and it was butter. It touched his chest and went right back up. It looked like a warmup set. And he’s hella fast.”

Robert Henry Jr, UTSA, 5-9, 197

Saw Matt Waldman posting some clips and he reminded me a little of Kenneth Walker with his patience and vision.

Chip Trayanum, Toledo, 5-11, 227

Oh God it's happened again!

I was looking for a late round/UDFA RB as someone who could replace Antonio Gibson on the roster. I thought I'd found someone.

Productive? - Check. over 1,000 yards at 5.6 average
Doesn't fumble? - Meh. Two on the year
Pass blocking - Not bad. On par with Jonah Coleman according to PFF grade.
Speed - Check but unverified. According to Google Gemini, runs high 4.3s and has been timed at 22mph. Sadly this won't be verified at the combine as he's a snub.

But once again, as has happened so much this year, I check his career stats after liking what I see, only to discover he's a 6th year senior. Note to self, do the career stats check first.

Still, I love his size/speed combo if that speed is verified and I like what I've seen from limited tape (see next post). He's a worthy rnd 6/7 or UDFA guy.

Mayo mocked him a couple of times a few months ago so I peeked at him, saw his age and thought, hmm, this guy is for someone else to talk about. Took you long enough.

Another athletic comp for you.

Mike Washington, RB , Arkansas

6-1, 223

40 - 4.33
10 - 1.51
VJ - 39
BJ - 10-8

Jonathan Taylor, RB, Colts

5-10, 226

40 - 4.39
10 - 1.46
VJ - 36
BJ - 10-3

The more compact frame and the better 10 yard split are the difference makers here. However, Eliot Wolf has said the team are looking for offensive playmakers. I wonder if Washington counts*. I wouldn't mind seeing him on KRs either.

* I don't think we draft a RB in the 2nd or 3rd round, it'll be a FA or day 3 RB most likely. Still, he's got some really good tape.

Well there's a couple of interesting names.
