I saw some people posting ahead of the Super Bowl about places they've been, and I'm curious to see who in here has seen a lot of NFL games on the road. Would love to hear where people have been, along with any cool stories.

Mine's somewhat limited.

I've been to

  1. Foxboro Stadium
  2. Gillette Stadium
  3. Sun Devil Stadium (the old one)
  4. Everbank Field
And I think that might be it.

As for my most memorable game, I was at the AFC Championship in 1997 against the Jaguars. It was absolutely frigid, and I remember struggling to walk back to the parking lot because I layered up on top but only had on jeans and sneakers, and my legs were numb. But the game itself was crazy, and seeing Otis Smith make that play at the end to put the game out of reach was incredible. That and all the players going around the field and shaking hands with fans after it was over was also pretty terrific. The power outage was a little frustrating, which delayed things a bit, but that game is definitely one I'll never forget.

But feel free to post your own list, along with any cool memories you might have.

foxboro
gillette
the meadowlands/giants stadium (couple times, most memorable - '07, the 16-0 game)
RFK - kinda cheating, saw The Who there in '89, not a football game
new orleans superdome (01 - 36)
houston ( 03 -38 )
jacksonville ( 04- 39 )
soldier field (December 24, 1994)

non nfl / college football
west point
princeton
bc - vs syracuse - kinda cool, sat next to former Patriot Dave Bavaro
notre dame - (was an awesome experience... the showstopper was we got to see the #1 lit up on the ND campus, then the next day they lost to BC - after the game, got to walk across the field... that was pretty special )

Foxboro - Raiders, lost in OT, maybe 1993ish
2 x Gillette - against the 9ers when we were great, maybe 2004ish.. Maybe earlier. We had the record for most games in a row scoring first. 9er broke it, I think it was Kevin Barlow that scored. We killed them
Sunday night game against GB, was billed as the last Brady/Rodgers ever probably.
5ish x Ralph Wilson - Incredible atmosphere, great tailgating, great fans
Ford Field - Turkey day game against our Pats
Sun Devil (old one) - terrible atmosphere. Cards/Ravens the year the Ravens won the SB.
Lambeau - playoff game in Jan, absolutely freezing

yes, you get 1000 air miles.

True story: I was seated next to a Giants fan on the flight home after we lost Super Bowl XLII. It was torture.

Helmet catch or Manningham sideline catch?
Both would be awful, but the helmet catch/perfect season gone would be very tough.

Sullivan Stadium
Gillette
Old Meadowlands
Met Life
Superdome
Mercedes Benz Superdome (ATL)
BOA Charlotte (luxury box watched Gronk get mugged in the end zone with no DPI called!
Whatever the old Lions domed stadium was
Rich Stadium (for The Who)

I attended both of them, but the sad flight home w/gloating Giants fan was after the Tyree game. My buddy and I drove to Indy and back.
