Would you consider it? Knowing he is going to cash in on that Super Bowl performance it would seem like a big ask for us to pay up.

Cardinals will continue to suck. Marvin might just need a change of scene.

No. Pats would weaken the strongest part of their defense and that's not good enough a reason to do that.

I doubt the Cardinals would do it either unless MHJ is a malcontent.

Gonzo just shut down JSN.

MHJ wont be anything like his pappy. They never are.

Thats a little hyperbolic, outside of a few QBs any player should be tradeable for 3 first rounders, including Gonzo.
Hmmm. All current year? How high in the first round?

If they’re futures, late in the round, do you cripple the team now for several rolls of the dice that may pay off years from now?

I may not.

I know the situations are different, but he has Boutte type of stats.

It's not.
Lockdown corners don't grow on trees, especially when you have them under contact control and are 25 years old.

The Patriots had to pay out the nose for Gilmore, and got him at 28.

Well, he has maybe 1 more affordable year and then the 5th year option will be the somewhere between franchise and transition tag numbers, still a good deal for his level of play, but by no means cheap.

I cannot think of one shutdown corner that wouldn't be moved for 3 first rounders. If you combine the 3 with our own 1st, you can turn that into 2 pro-bowl level players. I mean Parsons went for 2 first plus a player. Or just draft and probably hit on 2 pro-bowlers out of 4 chances.

Don't get me wrong I love Gonzo, but there are so many options with that amount of picks, it would be really really hard to turn down.

Only WR id trade Gonzo for is Chase, Jettas or Puka that's it

With Gonzo in the secondary and Williams/Barmore up front, we have the makings of a special defense, and we're not even done building yet. I think we pay the money for Gonzo and find a way to make the cap work.
