Schwartz is under contract with the Browns for the next two seasons. Until the Browns release him, Schwartz can not coach. That is what the Browns sports reporters are saying.
I had a feeling about that after I read he "resigned". Hopefully the Browns let him go.

You’ve made your point multiple times, time to move on.
OK Ring 6.
I am gone as Sam but

I may come back with a new user name and you will never know.

You do not understand the meaning of grace and its bad Karma for you

That would be honorable, wouldn’t it.

Everyone will know it’s you.

Grace? You mean you expect me to make a bet and not collect?

I gave you many opportunities to take the high road.

They will need to comply with the Rooney rule [two in-person interviews with minority coaches] before hiring. Kuhr is likely to be the next DC, but other options exist [e.g., Jim Schwartz].

Zak Kurh has been phenomenal he stepped up his game in the postseason.. it's just so ridiculous that the defense gets no respect like they deserve.. they were amongst top 5 defenses with no premier pass rushers.. really looking for to Zurh being even better next season..

I think its ridiculous that the Pats have to do sham Rooney Rule interviews and can't just promote from within with someone who clearly earned the job based on the color of his skin.

Nobody follows it. They just have to pretend like they are.

I am also pleasantly surprised that we got exactly the outcome we were hoping for.

They would have to do the interviews even if he were a minority.

They avoided interviews with Mayo not because he's a minority, but because Kraft submitted a successorship plan to the league that would automatically promote Mayo upon Belichick's departure. As an example, even if Kraft had named Steve Belichick as Bill's successor, it would still satisfy the Rooney rule's requirements.

I agree there should be a waiver here.

But the rule is there because the NFL has a nepotism problem.

Everyone's son seems to get hired because their Dad asked someone for a favor when they had some pull in the league. It is over the top at this point with all the children that are coaching in the NFL. It seems to be more of a closed system than ever before.

1. See my post above. Kuhr not being a minority is irrelevant here, just as Mayo being one was irrelevant in 2024.

2. It's not just a nepotism problem, it's also a retread problem.

Well deserved and no surprise. He is going to do great things when starting the year with the title. Hope TW sticks around in the reduced role team announced, not 100% sold he will be here past this coming year.
The Patriots haven't announced Williams' new job title; all that's been reported is that it's "high-ranking".

BTW, per Phil Perry on Xitter, one of the coaches they interviewed to satisfy the Rooney rule was Ephraim Banda, CLE safeties coach, who's had multiple interviews this cycle.

Kuhr officially hired and also another hire, a guy that internes with Pats for a bit last year

Ge looks like a young Tomasse. Just sayin

All the "high-ranking" roles above DC have already been filled. He is not becoming our new HC or GM. I don't consider an assistant HC to be anything more than a title in name only.
