Better team won. Maye was pretty bad too. Defense fought hard and down 19-7 we had a chance still but Maye threw the game away with that interception.
That was Mayo’s Maye returning. He defaulted to some bad issues I saw plenty of last year. He needs to play from behind a bit next year and learn to win and keep composure. His mind was gone after the fumble.

I saw someone in the gameday thread of the Broncos game get angry after the Mims catch in the 1st quarter and suggested Gonzalez isn’t worth the money he was going to command. I attribute that to the poster having the emotional maturity of a kindergartener. So basically, it’s been said, but not by anyone who needs to be taken seriously.

I had a bit of a bad year when it came to drinking too much - boredom and unemployment are great mixers for Tito's Vodka.

This past decade of my life was the first where I ever got drunk and I'm over 50 now.

Point is, it's been a net negative but one thing I've learned is to identify when it's some furious drunk old bastard slamming his swollen fingers on the keys to ***** because he didn't like what happened on a football field on his TV screen.

I worry about that as well. He needed to play a flawless game for the Pats to even have a chance, he wasn’t even close to flawless, he was Bledsoe-esque in his first Super Bowl ever. That can definitely hurt a QB mentally.
Is insulting Bledsoe really called for?

They have no excuse not to spend to their full cap this off-season.

They have a **** ton of holes that need correcting.

Yes you do.
Interesting approach. You think you know what I know and I don’t.
Wouldn’t it be easier for you to just say you were wrong than to look like a fool?

I wonder if the Pats are ready to admit the arm length thing was real and we've drafted a guard.

If he turns out to be an elite guard it's still a good pick, the case for moving him to guard is LG is already a disaster anyway so moving him there couldn't be any worse.
It could also be that Campbell's poor play was due to his injury and he will be better with the off season to recover. If the coaches know that Campbell is a guard, they shouldn't worry about saving face. He will still be a valuable member of the team.

People want everything and it's not gonna happen. You might get a new LT, but you won't get a guard. You might get an edge guy, but you won't get the WR.

Teams don't get everything. Maye was horrific in the 1st half. I bet the film will show plenty of guys NFL open, he just refused to throw the ball.

There are only 11 guys on defense. Those 11 guys can only be in so many places at once. There shouldn't be many coverages he hasn't seen over the course of the regular season and the playoffs. Next year will be very telling because they play a real NFL schedule. I've got them for 10 wins next season. Hope thats enough.

Maye has to be light years better though. No more fumbles, no more sacks or I would be happy with half the number of both. If the trend continues then it's really not good.

Oh and Gonzo just got PAID after tonight. Have fun with that one Vrabel and Elliot.
Some of Maye’s sacks were totally on him. He had enough time to make a decision: pass it, scramble or throw it away. He did none and took drive killing sacks.

I'm not necessarily inclined to disagree, but Josh's offense means I, at the least, can't pretend to know who made the wrong read there. I'm definitely suspicious of an INT like that where the rookie WR is running away from the ball and not looking back...

Brother do you even know what it takes to gameplan?

Personnel that executes.

The Patriots did not do that on offense tonight.

I didn't see McDaniels doing much creatively to put them in a position where they could be successful, especially after it was clear they couldn't block on the left side.

They knew it was a weakness from the last 2 games and they had two weeks to prepare. I put this mostly on McDaniels and the coaching.

That being said, amazing season where we massively outperformed expectations. Vrabel is a long term keep and he's brought a ton of resiliency to this team. With some smart offseason improvements we'll be back next year as a threat.

Not only that but it was great for me personally since it's the first year my twin boys have shown any interest in watching football on Sunday with me.

I agree but I hope (and think) Vrabel and Eliot knew he was gonna get paid. He'd be paid even more if we had won. He was always going to be paid. It's a toss up between him and Surtain as the best in the league. He is 50% of the reason why we even stayed within reach tonight.

No. Fans support the team. Fans identify with the team. Fans are hopeful.
You **** on the team.

I guess the answer you didn’t give us the one I really thought. Despite criticizing everything as if you were better than everyone, you really are a failure in life who takes out the frustration of being a loser by typing ******* comments ripping people who accomplished more by 25 years old than you did in your entire miserable life. Why don’t you stick to slurping 40s and crying to your trailer trade neighbors.
Fans cheer for the team and rip the team when they play like ****. You appear to the the failure in life who gets his patriots g string in a bunch whenever anyone rips the team. Glad to see were allowing personal insults. The tell of a losing argument is personal attacks. Glad I live in your head. Just like I apparently live in the heads of all the footy pajamas crew. The ****ing sucked tonight. Absolutely sucked. What's false about that statement? I think you need to reevaluate your existence

There is a small irony that after this entire season we are back to complaining about our offense
I think the way Drake plays there's a much bigger need a big play true number one receiver that draws double coverage.

You can't ask this guy to be Brady and take a bunch of jags and surgically drive them down the field 7 yards a clip, Drake is a much more of a gunsliger who is going to be more erratic but has the ability to make 3-4-5 huge plays that turn a mediocre game into 300 yards and 3 TDs and nearly 30 points.

We need to adjust the personnel to his skillset more.

#2 offense in the NFL.
Literally people here will complain about anything but the best of the best.

The game was on the West Coast. Anyone who expected even HALF Pats fans has potentially never looked at a map.
Seattle is a 12 hour drive away from SF.

Disappointing end to a promising season but in the end, least disappointing ((although still disappointing) Super Bowl loss in team history and I’ve been through them all. Better than XX because at least there was still a chance until close to the end and we really had no business being here anyway. Hopefully they can build on this season and improve in the future. Time will tell.

You aren't wrong. Maye's strength is his downfield accuracy. They need the type of guys Farve had at his peak maximize it
