OT: NFL faces calls to change playoff format after snowstorm during Patriots-Broncos

They probably just want more corporate money to run it like two Superbowls. Just like the college playoff system
Does that mean we'll have the "Pop-Tart AFC Wild Card Round"?

Nearly all articles found on MSN these days are from content farms and are primarily AI generated. Save your sanity and unfavorite that garbage site.

What the hell? Bad weather is the absolute essence of football. I already curse the indoor stadiums enough as it is.

In the interest of fairness all Denver Broncos home games shall henceforth be played at a neutral site no more than fifty feet (50’) above sea level.

Nonstarter because what’s the point of seeding if you play the championship at a neutral site? Silliness. Now I’ll admit, second half of that game was borderline unwatchable but OH WELL.

What nonsense...
It hadn’t already been discussed due to weather, it has been discussed as a way to make more money. 3 SB-like events rather then 1. It will turn into a farce like SB week has.

I would imagine if they do this, it will also include adding an 8th playoff team, eliminating the bye and adding a bye week between the divisional and CCG so SB teams will play twice in a month.
If there are more ways to ruin it, they will do that too.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see them have the CCGs at the SB site and make it a 2 week event. They would do the bye week between ccg and SB.
That way they can add an 7th playoff team and have 8 wc games and no bye.

If there is more money/revenues involved, the league will consider it with great interest.

But of course they should, making money is the reason they exist.

If anything, Denver should move its team to a sea level area. Then again, I didn't see the Pats player sucking wind or even oxygen so who knows.

The Patriots won. Dis not fair!

Thats what it is all about. The Pats won. In Denver. Bad weather doesn't faze them like it would for 3/4 of the AFC teams. Can you imagine Houston, Jax, Indy, etc etc playing in those conditions?

Bill Polian's back I guess.

If Polian has anything to do with this he'll forget about it by tomorrow, so there's that.

I've been a Patriots season ticket holder for 32 years and have seen too many radical changes already. I sometimes wonder what the NFL will look like 10 years from now, especially with more than half the teams now destined for indoor stadiums, an expanded schedule and emphasis on international marketing. But the mere notion of taking the conference championship away from home fans is unconscionable.

There were only 1 or 2 whiny little *****es in the media - let by Florio - who called for the CCGs to be moved. This article is making a mountain out of a molehill.

We already have that, or did you not noticed how WC weekend was brought to us by Quicken Turbotax?

Correct. They have been talking about having the conference championship games at a neutral site for a while now. New Orleans? Miami? Vegas? LA? All in play for the AFCCG.

That’s a gracious take, I can’t get to the same level. To me, conditions are part of the game and whichever team preps best for the weather, has a well deserved edge.

I think a change like the one proposed may have been the result of certain bets not being won because both teams modified their approaches to adapt.
Why weren’t these changes suggested when the Pats couldn’t win in Denver?

BTW, with our new championship level adventure starting I am SO glad we began by beating Denver IN Denver.

Yet another terrible idea.

What short sighted nonsense this is. We have had so many games played in snow and rain and a mix of both every year since the sport began and now because so many sore asses fans of other teams, coaches who couldn’t get it done and analysts that are also jealous their team didn’t make it there are *****ing and moaning because they don’t like the outcome. They hate us so much because we are the greatest DYNASTY of all time and oh no……we are BACK AGAIN!!!! They need to quit their crying and *****ing and let teams play the game in whatever conditions that are happening except lightning because here is the thing…..it’s still a level playing field and BOTH teams have to play in it and fight to win!!!! F’in Crybabies!
