The Patriots were very shorthanded up front on defense in the last matchup otherwise Cook is shut down like he was in the first game and I don't think the Bills come back from their 21-0 deficit.I’m talking about the playoffs (though the ref season was a cakewalk for NE too).
No one has ever had an easier path through the playoffs than the Patriots. They essentially played middling teams all 3 games, and 2 of those games included teams with HORRENDOUS quarterbacks. They didn’t play a tough team like the Jags. Or the Broncos with a starting QB. Or the Bills.
They were basically handed the Super Bowl appearance despite playing poorly.
As for the regular season, Bills beat them in the last matchup… the first matchup was really their only claim to fame and it was tight.
No they weren't handed anything. "Handed" = what the refs did for the Chiefs last year. The Chargers and Texans weren't middling teams. (and no Mills is absolutely not better than Stroud as mentioned before) The Broncos are mid sans Nix, but I can't use a bad weather game to size up the Patriots in that one. I mean.. I think the Raiders would have easily handled the Patriots in the 2001 Snow/Tuck Rule game if the weather was good but all that snow and bad weather changed things bigtime. Admittedly I have concerns now about Maye in bad weather but that thankfully should not be a problem in the SB.
It's interesting that so many fans are butthurt about the Patriots catching a break like Nix being out... but they know fully well that they would be too happy to see that same break happen to their team and they wouldn't apologize for it. I bet the overwhelming majority of Bills fans would agree with me.
