Funny you say that because as bad a memory as that game is…if that Giants team could beat that Patriots team, we can beat the ****ing Seahawks

The fact that the 17-3 Patriots that averaged 28.8 ppg are facing the 16-3 Seahawks that averaged 28.4 ppg, both allowing 17 ppg, including the playoffs, is talked about as anything even resembling the 16-0 Pats which averaged 37 ppg facing the 10-6 Giants which averaged 23 ppg, is a proof positive that people's ability to be brainwashed hasn't been higher since the middle ages. You can create ANY narrative and people will blindly believe it, as long as it aligns with their confirmation bias.

Brady had 50 TD's that year, a record, while Eli had a TD/INT ratio of 23/20.

Drake has 35 total TD's with 4800 total yards and 16 turnovers, while Darnold has 25 total TD's with 4100 yards and league-leading 25 turnovers.

There's not a single thing that makes Seattle some big favorite over a team that has won 16 out of their last 17 games except Maye's slight drop in form in comparison to the regular season, and even then he has helped us win the games, whether with running or passing. Our QB is just as good as theirs, our coaching is just as good as theirs, our defense has been more dominant. They have one great WR, which we lack, and that's about it as far as big advantages go.

Just remember that people hate the Patriots so much, the collective insanity of NFL fandom convinced themselves for a week that Stidham is some undiscovered gem that would start on 30 teams, because they needed a reason to believe that the Pats won't make the SB.

Overrating a pretty good team like the Seahawks that haven't done anything even remotely historic, either offensively or defensively, to the levels of the 2007 Pats goes to show how scared everyone is of the idea that the Pats are a win away from winning another SB. They will convince themselves anything as long as the end result is the Pats losing.

Hey, i was trying to be as partial as i can! Maye was better this year than Darnold ever was. Even if you consider Maye's drop in production in the playoffs, at best, you could argue that Darnold isn't much worse. And like you wrote, our defense has been better than theirs in the playoffs. Let's not forget that 7 of those 16 points against the Texans were after Maye lost a fumble at our own 27, so they've allowed ONE genuine TD against three playoff teams. ANY other team, and this defense would be getting ''historic'' adjectives. But it's the villainous Pats, so they get absolutely no credit.

My point was that the difference in quality on paper between the Patriots and the Giants, and Brady and Eli was so large, that there's a reason why it's considered one of the greatest upsets in sports history.

There's almost nothing separating the Pats and Seattle, not the QB, not the offensive line, not the running game, not the defense...they have one All-Pro WR, and we don't. If you analyze the season, their faults, their struggles, and ours, we've got two very similar seasons. The only difference is that Darnold played against a defense without 10 starters in the 49ers, and both teams struggled in the championship games, they struggled on defense, we struggled on offense.

But if you read/listen to the narrative, you would think the Seahawks are 17-0, and the Pats 8-9, and not having one more win than them.

The disrespect and contempt being shown to the patriots is at the highest level for a SB team that I can remember in years.
I'm trying hard to remember a SB team in the past 25 years that has been downplayed and dissed as much as this team.
Perhaps the 2007 Giants who beat the Pats?


I expected this and fully expect the Seahawks will be overconfident heading into the game.

While the AFCE argument was valid as it was a garbage division for the majority of the dynasty, most divisions had one team that dominated the rest. Media would get blinded by the AFCN because they'd beat each other up creating the illusion the division was so completive only to lose to the Patriots. I don't even know why media even brings this up.

I HATE that this has been repeated so much everyone just assumes its true. Yeah against Brady and the Patriots the other AFCE teams didn't do well. You know who else didnt do well? Any team that faced Brady and the Patriots. They actually had a higher win percentage against non AFCE teams and if you take out the losses against the Pats other AFCE teams in those years actually had the 5th most wins of any division, so they were solidly middle of the road not garbage. You know the actual garbage divisions? AFC and NFC south. Funnily enough you never hear about Manning having an easy path to the playoffs every year and that's far more factually true.

I am sure everyone knows this , but just reiterating the magnitude

Over the last 12 years only 4 teams have represented the AFC in super bowl - patriots-5, chiefs -5 and Bengals -1 , broncos -1.

Thats some next level domination. NFC had 7 teams .

Nfc - Seahawks (2), eagles(3) , rams(2), 49ers(2), Tampa(1), panthers (1), falcons (1)

AFC- 8 and NFc-3 and the 12th one decided in 2 weeks form now.

Josh Allen has played for 8 years now and came towards the end of Brady years and still hasn't reached the hallowed land.
