Feel Awful for Nix, though, the Broncos got some very good calls on this last drive. Karma hit very hard. Can't wait for the game tomorrow.

I forgot to post this sooner. I feel really, really bad for Nix. Nothing about the guy makes me hate him, and this injury blows. IF the Pats win tomorrow as much as going to Denver is going suck donkey balls...not having a Nix v Maye led team sucks for everyone who is a fan of the NFL.

Just wondering, since it’s the playoffs and this injury happened…is he going to recover by season start? I’m not familiar with broken ankles and how serious they are compared to ACL.

Ankle isn't the issue really it's possible ligament damage that is the issue. He should be fine by start of training camp.

Depends on exactly what happened. I know from someone it happened to (not me) that the biggest issue is they can't put weight on that foot for ~2 months or so after the surgery. But if it's not too bad, he should be ready either for TC or not long after (e.g., early October).

Pats may get to face LAC without any no tackles, Houston with no Collins, Denver with no Nix.

Even if they make the super bowl the narrative that they didn't play anyone this year and don't really deserve it will persist unless they win it all vs a healthy Seahawks team. Even making it will be considered not much of an accomplishment.

Edit: Not my opinion btw... speaking of the narrative others will build. Though the path is relatively easy as superbowl paths go, even a strong Pats support must admit as much.

I don’t see any asterisks next to the 2015 Denver Champions who beat a Patriots team in the AFCCG who had lost just about all their RBs and had to bring in the Ghost of Steven Jackson.

.

This wouldn't be the first time some random ass garbage QB had an insane playoff game against us (Hello Nick Foles)

Our injury report for that game:

Tre' Jackson, guard (knee)
LaAdrian Waddle, tackle (shoulder)
Questionable
Danny Amendola, wide receiver (knee)
Scott Chandler, tight end (knee)
Jamie Collins, linebacker (back)
Nate Ebner, safety (hand)
Julian Edelman, wide receiver (foot)
Darius Fleming, linebacker (back, shin)
Jonathan Freeny, linebacker (hand)
Rob Gronkowski, tight end (knee, back)
Dont'a Hightower, linebacker (knee)
Chandler Jones, defensive end (abdomen, toe)
Rob Ninkovich, defensive end (shin)
Matthew Slater, wide receiver (shin)
Bryan Stork, center (ankle)
Sebastian Vollmer, tackle (ankle)

Not to mention 4-6 starters already IRed by that point. **** Denver and their asterisks.

edit: On IR already: Blount, Tarell Brown, Solder, Wendell, Dane Fletcher, Dobson, Brandon Gibson, Chris Jones, Dion Lewis,

Ian, this has been discussed enough, and it has no real relevance unless or until we win tomorrow. THEN it becomes a valid topic again an we can talk about it ad nauseum

Leave dad out of this

This is a relevant topic for the rest of the postseason, regardless of what the Patriots do.

What is the purpose of this reply? Are you asking for Ian to close the thread until further notice?

It's as easy as not entering the thread my friend.

I deadass am thinking that of the Pats don’t turn the ball over tomorrow, Houston can’t win.
Said this in the game thread, we play a clean game and we win. We give Houston a gift or two and we open the door. I wouldn't mind a super conservative offensive game.

That all depends.
Conservative is fine as long as it's working.
Running the ball is a great plan, but it has to be effective.
Shorts throws are safe, but Houston really rallies and closes off the underneath game very fast.
They are most susceptible to QB scrambles and challenging their safeties deep.
I don't want to be so conservative that we keep them within one score where one big play can turn the game in their favour.
We present just as much of challenge to them on O, as they do to us on D, I would hate to see us take that strength of ours away.
We can be aggressive, but still emphasis ball security and realize punting is ok.
