Dante Moore is returning to Oregon for his final year, which means Gangrene, I mean Gang Green, won’t have a chance at a top quarterback prospect in the 2026 draft unless they invest heavily in the draft to acquire Mendoza. If I were the Raiders, I would make no moves and simply draft Mendoza. Aaron Glenn must show something quick. I doubt he can rely on the excuse that his quarterback is developing. This will all lead to another year of ridicule for the Jets, which makes me happy. I am also happy for Moore. The Jets are notorious for ruining quarterbacks. I hope he avoids being drafted by them next year.

QB2 is now what, Chambliss, or Ty Simpson?

Not sure Ty Simpson is good enough for that range. I do like Chambliss, but sounds like he’s fighting to stay in school.

Or….

Unless they are convinced that Mendoza is can’t miss, extort a king’s ransom from the Rats to swap picks

Plan A has failed. They’re moving to contingency plans.

Plan B: trade for a franchise QB, either Tua or Kyler Murray as their savior.
Plan C: sign Kirk Cousins once he gets released by the Falcons to a short term 2 year, $60m contract to be a stopgap.
Plan D: trade for a stopgap - reacquire Geeno in a trade with Raiders after they draft Mendoza, only owed $66m the next 2 seasons with $18m guaranteed, his time in Seattle rehabilitated him and Woody doesn’t want to look foolish like he did letting Revis go, so will get him back like he did with Revis.

The only reasonable plan for the Jets in 2026 is to tank hard, and that sounds delicious.

So... just be the jete then. Business as usual.

They could go for a vet as a stop gap... when i think about it, the steelers will probably kick A.A.Ron Rodgers free... They could go that route....

Oh wait...

Chambliss played out of his ****ing MIND against my GA Bulldogs. That kid might be something . Simpson is Mac Jones 2.0

Are we really so petty as to wish them ill for Parcells, Curtis Martin, the former Jet exec who pushed the deflategate nonsense, and the 2010 playoff game?

I mean I sure as **** am, just curious if the rest of ya'll are.

Most teams feel they have to jump on the opportunity to get a qb when they are in top 5 and don’t have one.
The Jets realize now they are going to be in the top 5 most years.

I would be pretty funny if after Sanchez, Darnold and Wilson they force a qb pick again.

Or worse, spend a high pick on Mac Jones without a good OC.

To follow on 102, this does not require intention.

I read that Moore is still 20 or just turned 21. He is WAY too young to go to any team in the NFL, let alone the Jets. That should have been obvious from the IU game. Plus, to go along with the Jets, and the age, this wasn't a hard decision. He's not going to make much less at Oregon that he would have made in the NFL getting the crap beat out of him with a horrible team. I would have been shocked if he had actually gone INTO the draft.

No NEXT year is the year to tank. It might be a better QB draft than '23 when 6 went in the top 12. Might only be 1 in the top 15 this year. Maybe only one in the first round.

McDaniels was the OC when we took Jones.
Are you comparing that, actually you are saying it’s worse than picking Sanchez, Darnold, and Wilson in the top 5, and having nothing to show for it.
I think you want to rethink that one.

What’s exactly the group for next year?

To be fair, Bill ruined Mac. He really had a shot at being a wining QB if McD stayed. Look at his SF stats this year:

2,151 yards, 13 td, 6 int, QBR 63.3, Comp % 69.6, RTG 97.4, 5 wins, 3 loss.

Agreed.

I believe coaching ruined him in NE. Nobody got to see his full potential. Honestly, Bill seemed to be just going through the motions at that point.

Maye might have a higher upside. But McDaniels as OC & Vrabel as HC with Diggs at receiver is a much better situation.

I believe Peyton Manning would have elected for the NFL in 97 if it were not for the Jets having the first overall pick. So this has happened before.

And ya know, maybe he will continue to learn and salvage his career under Shanahan. Look at Darnold.
