Would you be ok with trading for AJ Brown

Diggs had a better year than he did. I would say he's *not* worth it.
I would think the entire forum, you included, if answering truthfully the questions, "would you trade Diggs for brown straight up today"? everyone would say yes.
gets tricky when you think about having Brown and Diggs on the same team
gets tricky with Diggs, Hollins, Henry all over 30
Boutte approaching free agency

rather than a 3rd rd pick, would you trade K Williams for AJ Brown straight up? would the Pats? would the Eagles?
Brown 2026 cap hit if traded w/b approx $23m in 2026 and approx $23m in 2027

No. They are building and developing their young players. Give them a pick not a player.

Definitely something to kick the tires on. I don't like how he handled himself in Philly, but I think he would clean up his act here.
My first preference is to roll it back with Diggs unless he's looking to break the bank.

Not sure I agree with that. At cost I'll take Diggs showing Williams how to play the position over AJ Brown. They're practically twins.

AJ Brown is expensive, he'll be expensive next year. Diggs is cheap in comparison.

Hollins is old. Boutte isn't a free agent until 2027, but he has definitely outplayed his current contract and earned an extension.

AJ Brown doesn't have a problem playing with Devonta Smith, he has a problem with Jalen Hurts and being near dead last in pass attempts in the NFL annually. The Patriots have all the money and cap space in the world... plus that Drake guy is good at passing and good at passing deep.

Like I said earlier, on a short but rich incentive laden deal I would do it. Diggs, Brown, Boutte and Williams is a stupid fast and strong group. With Douglas and Chism in the slot, that's really good unit.

The further they progress in this year's playoffs against these tougher defenses, the more I think they should consider using Chism in the slot. Drake and Douglas haven't built a rapport, a nasty slot WR is good on short downs and to move the chains. Josh and Drake could make Chism the next Troy Brown/Welker/Amendola. He could help to extend drives.

Newsflash None those WR's you listed are better than A.J. Brown. Also I think Pop Douglas gets Traded this Off-season: not ruling out Drafting a WR again either. We a Need Big Boundary WR like Hollins: a WR with height is an advantage in certain situations ie... a High pass - Jump ball and EZ fade.
Please stop distorting what I said.

I didn’t say they were better that AJ Brown. And whether Pop is traded has nothing to do with what I said either. You said our vets were long in the tooth and that’s a reason to get AJ Brown. I just pointed out that your reason doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.

I realize you want AJ, but please stop gaslighting and changing what I said to suit your agenda. We don’t need AJ Brown, no matter what distortions you might invent to justify your desire to see him here.

FYI in case you forgot what you wrote here’s your post that I replied to. Nothing about Pop Douglas, just about long in the tooth vets being why we should sign Brown.
IF our Vet WR's wasn't so long in the tooth I would pass. But we would be crazy if we had a shot at A.J. Brown and pass. Maye's peers are pretty stacked at WR: some have Two very good ones. We need to follow suit: Maye needs to have that guy.

and you’d be wrong.

Again.

No we need all our picks to continue building the OL, improve our Edge, upgrade the LBs, and improve CB depth.

Kyle Williams hasn’t shown us who he is yet, he’s just scratching the surface.

You sign AJ Brown and he immediately becomes a max snap player.
Obviously. AJ Brown instantly makes this team better. We hope Kyle does someday.

AJ Brown if traded, in 2026 and 2027 has a lower cap hit both years than Diggs
that said, I assume it is less than 50/50 Diggs plays in 2027, given his age and production vs his 2027 cap number

playoff loss aside. Brown had 1 drop in 2025 and 0 drops in 2024 (prior 4 seasons 7, 5, 8, 5)
WIlliams has 21 career targets and 1 drop. obviously small sample size, but he was drafted with the rep of questionable hands
Brown is a legit top 8-10 WR in the league and is 28 years old. Williams is a total unknown. maybe he will be something. don't want Maye with aging targets and maybe's. same with Boutte. he looks like he is a really solid drafted and developed draft pick.
will he be more than solid? will he resign here? maybe. again, Maye needs more than maybe's.

No we need all our picks to continue building the OL, improve our Edge, upgrade the LBs, and improve CB depth.

That depends on what they do in free agency. If they address the OL there then they have more flexibility in the draft.

Ideally we draft the next Puca Nacua sleeper.

Ideally we draft the next Puca Nacua sleeper.
that would certainly be great
but Maye is the QB. his top 3 targeted players were Diggs, Henry and Hollins all over 30 years old.
the team needs to start thinking about this roster on Maye's timelines. what gets Maye to another level? OL play and playmakers.
maybe Williams is a playmaker. same with Chism. Maybe Boutte resigns. Maybe needs a target to grow with.

we will see which one plays and contributes more in the next three games as we close out the season
Yes. I love pop.. but just feels like he's a role player, reserve situational player at this point. He is still very useful but Chism is more of the guy who excels in the slot and running those Eldeman ans amemdola routes.

Given what Tyreek Hill went for at the same age (Tyreek will be 32 coming off an ACL next year) you might be surprised.

1st, 2nd, multiple 4ths
Good points... AJs been relatively healthy his carry no ACLs or Achilles so that is a good thing.. I can't see Vrabel giving up a 1st... 3rd and a 4th... absolutely..

I was listening to Brady on the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast and he made a good point — it’s not just about stacking guys with elite physical tools, it’s about fit. I’ve seen some posts knocking Diggs because of his age, but he brings leadership that doesn’t always show up on the stat sheet. Just look at AJ in Philly — great player, but he doesn’t really strike me as a leader. Bringing in a guy who’s going to command big money also means expecting production that matches that contract, and that’s always a risk. At the end of the day, I trust Vrabel to make the right call.

For a 2nd rounder at most, not a 1st.

Once the guaranteed money on AJ Brown’s deal is gone after 2026 he’ll want a new deal.
