I agree with this and if Pitts picked up the offense he might be great, but he is a huge risk because it will be a huge contract.
You are right on the contract.. from what I've followed on him he wants to go somewhere that he has a chance to win.. I'm sure their Will be other suitors but I'm confident should Vrabel go after him he's not going to offer a disrespectful contract..

Gonzalez allowed 1 touchdown this season, the only one of his career. The fact that you don't understand that allowing only 1 touchdown all season is a great achievement is really telling.
Did you watch the games?

That’s the problem with stats. Gonzo has been beaten multiple times this year in man coverage. His zone play has been questionable. The touchdown he gave up was against a nobody and was pretty bad.

If you look at the stats they are great but they don’t show the entire story. If you get beat by 10 yds and the WR drop the ball the stats will show 0/1 for 0 yds.

Gonzo simply hasn’t been as great this year as he was last year.

Take it for what it’s worth. PFF has him with 65.8 overall grade. That’s 43rd/114 CBs

We disagree, I think people see a completion and instantly think he's not a shutdown corner if a pass is completed on him. I think we will find out how good he is when the Patriots deal with his impending contract. I think it's really hard for fans to gauge the play of defensive backs because we don't really know what their assignments actually are. I put no stock in PFF's grades, they have him as middle of the road and he was named to the All Pro Team.

Remember when we signed Ocho Cinco? Everyone was excited. Two years later he was useless because he could not understand McDaniels offense. That is why I don't want Pitts. It took him years and years to figure out the Falcons offense. Jonnu Smith part II.
Gronkowski is a meat head who admits he didnt always know the play and had to ask at times. Didn't stop him from becoming the GOAT TE under McDaniels.

Talent always shines and bringing up Veteran WRs who no longer had the same drive nor talent when they came to NE is a weak comparison.

OchoCinco never played again after his 1 season in NE. He was 33 and his stats were declining. He failed to make the Dolphins team the following season and flamed out trying to be in CFL.

Give 1 example of an All Pro WR who came to NE, couldn't get the playbook, then continued an All Pro career after leaving NE.

You cant do it because it doesn't exist. The only example of getting an All Pro WR in his prime was Randy Moss and he had his greatest season ever in NE.

I highly doubt it but I could be wrong. Remember when I argued that Hollins was smart and was a great signing? Pitts is too much of a risk. We should sign a younger Hooper, that is all we need. Not Isaiah Likely. A younger, average, smart, and dependable TE is all we need.
Perfecto !!! Conserve the cash to spread around for players like Mike Jackson .

If you want to sign big time players , sign players like Milton williams all rest are gravy .

Carlton davis - semi flop based on contract value
Landry - semi flop based on value

Spillane - home run hit
Hawkins - great value signing
Tonga and hollins - blockbuster signings

Just don't go for above average talent with Top 20 money at their position.

You wanna pay someone high, pay it for folks who have got multiple all pro or have all pro potential and at positions where there will be a difference.

Kyle Pitts at 15 million is not gonna move the needle.

I thought someone had said he was deserving. Maybe I misread
The thing is this year with the defense they play excellent as a total defense. It's more on them as a unit than a singular player.. the edge pressure has been a issue since the saints game where Landry got hurt.. also.. I don't like it.. but I've accepted that kurh calls primarily zone. Davis, Marcus and of course Gonzo are man CBs that's thier strengths..

Once in this upcoming offseason we add some potent pass rushers we will see the all pro version of Gonzo more apparent.

Yeah the anti NE thing is very real and will never ever go away. Not in our lifetimes anyways.
which patriots do you believe to be the best in the NFL?

I need to know your thoughts on this.

Well since you asked...

I want a pro-bowl-caliber FB on the roster next season.

Eliot & Matt aka the Children Upstairs were in the room when Bill traded UP for BoneyT instead of Pickens or even Alec Pierce... But you can't teach speed amirite Matty?

Left Guards: 1. Joe Thuney, Chicago... Meanwhile the starting LG of the NEP ****ing Sucks.

The Children were also in the room during the same draft when Bill decided that Jackoff Jones... and Pierre Strong... AND Bailey the Newest Jete Zappy were ALL better options than Zachary Tom... or CB Tariq Woolen...

All that ****ing money, and not even ONE vote for either Milt Williams OR Chris Barmore?

And not one vote for Carlton the Doorman Davis? Yeah I wouldn't have voted for him either. Meanwhile Jamel Dean, the one who was supposed to be the suckier of the two Tampa Bay outside CBs while Davis was there, received 8...

Xavier Watts, the FS the "brain trust" bypassed in order to draft Wilson, received 2 votes, which was still 2 more than our own rookie FS did.

Saint Nick of Time Folk finished 6th among 9 Kickers receiving votes; our 2025 draft pick wasn't one of them.

Thirteen Punters received at least one vote; our 2023 draft pick wasn't one of them.

NINETEEN long-snapperheads received at least one vote; our 2025 draft pick wasn't one of them... Noticing a trend here, anyone? Meanwhile, First Lieutenant Joseph Cardona finished 9th in the voting, including one first-place vote. But he had to go because Culture, or some such ********.

And finally, our long-haired, cement-headed "captain" special olympic teamer finished in a 5-way tie... for 12TH place.
Do not listen to anyone ever, Ever, EVER say that Skooler's one of the Top STers in the league; they're either Liars or brain-dead Fanbois.

That's really difficult to find. Nobody wants to play FB as there's no money there.

Pickens seems like a nut, but he clearly would've been a better pick than BoneyT. I could see the Pats targeting Pierce in FA.

Jared Wilson has been brutal. They need to figure out what they want to do with him. Interior needs an upgrade for 2026.

Williams presense was felt in the run game, but pretty meh rushing the passer. However, he made plays against the Chargers including a game clinching sack. Meanwhile, there's still search parties out for Barmore. And I don't want to some ******* pointing to his sack against the Jets in week 18 or that lie on X saying he had the "most pressures for a DT". Lol. He's been really bad this year constantly slow dancing with OL.

I'm not surprised with Davis, but he was a lot better than I expected. I thought it was going to be bombs away on him this season. On the other hand, Dean was the sukier player and so bad after he signed his deal in Tampa, he reworked his contract taking a significant pay cut and will now be a FA in 2026. There will be a dumb team that gives him another pay day because of his fraudulent 2025 season.
