Too soon? Drake Maye vs Tom Brady

100 percent this. I will add one other thing that I don't think anyone can top Brady on and that's his determination to be better, he simply didnt have the god given physical talent that Maye has but he made up for it with his intellect and desire to prove people wrong and just win. When is was 3-28 if Brady mails it in they dont win but the dude is clutch as hell and has another gear that most dont have. If Drake Maye finds that deep down inside there is no limit to what he could do on a football field.

I think Maye is going to bust his ass every year to get better, but I don't think anyone will ever top his work ethic. Brady was getting in every day in the offseason at 4:00 in the morning with his entire day planned out months in advance. Even when he was on vacation he would bring guys along to work out with. Given the technology available to get better ( virtual reality etc...) Maye could become better as a player than Brady was doing 70% of the work Brady did, but still may never get to 7 rings. Either way the bottom line is that we win, because getting 2 quarterbacks if that caliber is as good as it's ever going to get.

I think it's good that Maye was not immediately drafted after Brady’s last season. That would have put alot of pressure on him. Scam, Mac Jones, Zappy and Brissett all took snaps before Maye started one game. Four years in between. You never want to be the guy who immediately follows the GUY.

The comparison should be year two Brady and this year's Maye, the nod would go to Maye. But again too small a sample and not enough big moments to make any true comparison. I am just happy he is better than we all thought he would be this year and there is still a lot of room to his ceiling which should scare the rest of the league.

Manning lost playoff games he had no business losing which includes: 1999 Titans, 2002 Jets, 2004 Pats (due to injuries), 2005 Steelers, 2007 Chargers, 2008 Chargers, 2012 Ravens, 2014 Colts. All of his teams were better than the opposition.

I don’t think this comparison is fair to Maye. He doesn’t need to be Brady. It’d be nice to become a dynasty again but I wouldn’t bet on that. If Maye just wins one he’ll absolutely be beloved in New England.

Exactly! Look, I"m having just as much fun watching Maye being fantastic this season as everyone else. I love the guy and hope he wins 10 Super Bowls.....but to compare ANYONE to Tom Brady is just cruel and unusual punishment. The guy is SOOOOO FAR beyond fantastic that he ruins sports conversations.

I think Brady's greatest and/or most memorable moments were in the postseason. Which is what every athlete wants to be remembered for.

Not suggesting he was not great in the regular season.

One SB win from Maye would definitley be enough. However, to be royalty he needs to win it all at some point.

From 2010-2019, there were 34 regular season losses lol. Stupid.

You'd think you'd know the nickname of the possible MVP and the QB who makes sure the WRs you idolize get the ball, your worshipfulness.

That nickname should die a slow and painful death, and it's author should die a speedy one. It is not only impronoucible, it is cringe worthy.
"MAYE... Drake Maye", wouldn't be my choice, but at least it isn't awful. Some mediot should find out what his teammates call him behind his back and we should use that. Maybe we should just hold off on the nickname imperative for a few years
