Great question….. why they ever gave average Tua that ridiculously high money contract, especially with his concussion history is the question of the year….. never seen any organization do something that stupid I don’t think.

Dolphins are elimated.

As it stands we need to beat jets and fins for the division regardless of what happens in Baltimore. That could change if buffalo loses one and we beat Baltimore
Ok.. I don't see Josh Allen losing anytime soon.. have to face reality.. I'm still leary on picking us over Ravens? Give me some optimism here patsy....

IF our WR's and TE's show up easy win...Diggs and H Henry hello!!

That Tua contract.. woooooooooooooof

It always makes me wonder, if our Alabama 1st round draft pick QB played just a little bit better, would we have found ourselves signing a similar contract?

Finding a QB that can play at all at the NFL level is really hard.

It's pretty easy for a GM to talk themselves and their fan base that this guy is showing enough flashes to want to lock them in early.

On the flip side, if you don't and that QB goes on to play decently elsewhere, you look like a dunce aka Daniel Jones.

So it seems the GMs often decide to roll the dice. They know the experiment will take a year or two to run its course, and in the mean time, they will be cashing the owner's fat paychecks.

In our case, Mac Jones couldn't outplay Bailey Zappe or Joe Milton so we dodged that bullet, yet his play in SF shows he could do okay if protected like fine china.

I'm not saying it was a good idea, but I understand what happened. Tua was holding out in camp and their backups looked even worse than Tua. If they had taken the hit and gotten rid of Tua right then, this team that the GM had built to win now would have gone to waste and he would have been fired. Tua had looked decent for a couple of years, so they gave him the contract and hoped it'd work out. It didn't and the GM got fired anyway and now the team is stuck with Tua.

Yep, you are right, circumstances played a huge role in his signing.

The "hoped it'd work out" part is the dice roll I was describing, and it came up craps.

As the old saying goes, hope is not a plan.

It seems a few NFL GMs are finding that out, but it usually takes a few years to play out while the GM keeps collecting those fat paychecks.

It seems the Greir family should be set for life.

So did the GM get fired for the Tua contract? And now the Dolphins need to decide if they want to hire another coach to coexist with Tua or keep McDaniels to coexist with Tua?
Also add in a new GM to the mix. I think they would be better off starting fresh, new GM and head coach.

Right.

Atlanta and Miami were layups.

You know me PF2 I call it like I see it.. I don't like the run defense.. it's to leaky mirror that with the pass rush concerns..

But I agree our WRs have been solid all year.. they have done well against any coverage so I don't buy that what Buffalo did is some magic elixir to beat Drake.. some media talking heads have mentioned..

Where was the elixir down 21-0..

And Buffalo's Best CB C Benford was out?? That's the head scratcher at the moment for me.

Yep on the first. They can't get more than 9 wins and the Texans hold the tiebreaker.

Ravens win guarantees a playoff spot, not the division.
Got it.. more important is securing a playoff spot.. we liked still get the division assuming...

It is funny. I have seen more than a few Dolphins fans online claim that Tua is better than Drake Maye. Hell, even a few think Tua is better than Josh Allen. They are delusional.

Face it. The Dolphins hit a soft part of their schedule and won a handful of games that gave Dolphins fans the false hope that they might be a good team that just had a bad start.

I really believe the game plan was to run the ball and posses it to keep Allen on the sidelines.. it started out perfectly.. then...

living in South Florida and having to deal with these bandwagon obnoxious and irritating Doofin fans…..it’s always a great day when they get eliminated from the playoffs! See ya!
All of the duck lips down there must be so sad

To be fair: the “soft part of the schedule” applies to the pats entire schedule
So one could make the same point that the pats easy schedule has deluded fans into thinking pats are a good team

I think he’s a good coach honestly, Tua blows
The clock management when they were behind was really terrible. Apparently, the coach refused to tell Tua that he was 2 scores behind and not to take each play down to the final couple of seconds.
===========
MIA would likely not have won, but the coach didn't even try. He just gave up. And then, at the very end, he started to call time outs and try to have a late score.
===========
Losing may have been because their QB wasn't good enough. But the HC was clearly not good enough.
===========
Yes, they need a new GM and a new HC.
