Pursuit of the Bye (1st Seed)

Denver only needs to lose one if the Pats win out.

So many of you still don’t believe in this team.

smh.
I don't believe that is a true statement. Denver beats us in Common Opponents Record due to our loss to LV. It was last week when, I did the math. And not sure if I saved or even posted it. We would have the same conference record but I believe we would be 5/6-1 vs common opponents and Denver 6/7-0. We actually had a lot of games vs common opponents. It is my understanding we need two losses by the Broncos to get the one seed, with us winning out of course.

When I first did this analysis for this thread, I made the statement "based on current rosters" at the time. Since then, Jones went down killing any shot they had, and it was a tough road to travel as it was. I didn't really factor in the Jags as they were playing kind of meh at the time. Mahomes is obviously done, as is the KC season which I truly didn't expect to happen this quick. I really thought they would hang around with playoff hopes and beat the Broncos as well as the Broncos stubbing their toe in GB. That didn't happen. Also, I didn't think Chargers would be much of a threat given their Oline situation, but they are proving to be a resilient bunch. So, our one seed hopes rely on us winning out, and getting help from likely the Jaguars and the Chargers. Unless anyone thinks Minshew can work some sort of magic against Denver which I do not subscribe too.

I'll double check the common opponents records. I couldn't find it online last week, I had to sort it out manually. Maybe its somewhere online now.

Edit: Confirmed we cannot win the one see with the same record as the Broncos.

"That's because Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos, like Mike Vrabel's Pats, just keep on winning themselves. They pulled even with New England in both games played and total wins on Sunday, topping the Raiders by a 24-17 final. With the win, the Broncos (11-2) officially clinched the "common opponents" tiebreaker over the Patriots (also 11-2) in the AFC playoff picture. This is where the Pats' Week 1 loss to the Raiders comes back to bite them. Other than that game, the teams are even in common opponents, and the Patriots have run out of games to come back in that department."

Wasn't the first one sans bye?
First SB we played in was without a bye. I believe we had the bye in 96. But we had the bye in 2001.

Saw some Drake critique ok.. well he's the Soon to be ALL PRO QB.. outside of gonzo who's the all pro on defense?... yesterday was a bunch of hell no's...

Gonzo was Keion Coleman's blocking-dummy ***** all...game...long.

Imagine that..Buffalo had to use thier 1 round pick to block instead of catching passes.. if Coleman ever wakes up and realizes he's playing with Josh Allen!!!....

Nix playing his best ball Sunday while Maye and Patriots suffer a historic collapse. D missed Spillane and Williams while offense is without Campbell and Jennings. Barmore has disappeared. They need to bounce back against an improving Ravens. Good to be playing meaningful games in December.

The point is, even an Alleged pro-bowler like Gonzo was abused yesterday. Charmin-soft, the lot of them.

Historic collapse

This game will be forgotten by the time we are all saying Happy New Year

I believe that post was from before the bills game so at the time it was accurate. After yesterday’s results we need to win out and hope for 2 Denver losses or a loss and a tie.

Disastrous day, i was hoping at least Denver would lose too

"Eight ply"

There's either another gear or not. We'll find out. I'm still a yes on that one

The Pats aren't catching the Broncos. All roads are leading to a collision course with the Texans as the #2 seed. J
Maybe the Jaguars
