I don't miss that throwing motion, glad I won't be watching.

Okay Tommy, I'll buy your share of the Raiders for $1, then I pinky swear to sell it back for $1. Just do it in the NFC.

Vegas has his prop at 150.5 yards passing.. I'd take the over. It would hysterical if he threw for 300 off his couch.

Well, if the Seahawks get a lead he's going to have to air it out no matter what - so "over" is a safe bet.

But here's hoping he creates a little folklore and has a big game.

Maybe he's got a little "Red Grange" in him!

"I was interviewing George Halas and I asked him who is the greatest running back you ever saw. And he said, 'That would be Red Grange.' And I asked him if Grange was playing today, how many yards do you think he'd gain. And he said, 'About 750, maybe 800 yards.' And I said, 'Well, 800 yards is just okay.' He sat up in his chair and he said, 'Son, you must remember one thing. Red Grange is 75 years old.' "
-- Chris Berman on ESPN's SportsCentury show.

This is a bad joke at best and makes the Colts a laughingstock. The other roster QBs -- Leonard and Rypien -- should be pissed as hell.
With all due respect but I think it says more about how bad those quarterbacks must be. If they were good enough do you think they’d call in Rivers?

If the GM and coach felt they were good enough to be on the roster, they should play. Perhaps if only one is healthy I could MAYBE see someone like Rivers brought in as mentor/emergency backup. There's just no way in hell a 44-year-old guy who hasn't played in five years should stroll in and immediately leapfrog a developmental prospect (Leonard) or even a journeyman vet like Rypien.

Apparently Rypien was just signed a few days ago so the argument probably is he isn't as versed in the system as Rivers. Leonard has a knee issue but missed no practice time this week. If I was Leonard -- who stepped in last week when Jones went down -- I'd be wondering WTF.

i initially thought that too... but, not the story...

hes on the IR with an orbital fracture... I got smoked in the face once, had the same thing happen... hurt like a mofo, took forever to heal

About 20 years ago our oldest son had his orbital bone replaced by doctors in Korea. It was risky but they did a great job and he's been fine ever since. I think they had to move his eye to do it.

He was a really good QB and was a victim of negligence by the Colts organization. While his teams were completely overmatched by the Pats, respect to him for taking a bad Colts team and carrying them to 3 straight 11-5 records and the AFCCG in his 3rd season.

He would've been a complete pain in the ass had the Colts didn't take their sweet ass time building around him.
Irsay and Polian. Birds of a feather.

Yeah, I feel for Luck too, but not enough bad things can happen to the Indiots. Same goes for the Ratbirds.

Back when I played basketball, I was the typical "quick guard". My speed was my best asset. I went to work after college and started playing regularly in a pick up league. I was still in my early twenties, so I still had the quickness and I played fairly well. Then a few years went by and the new hires got younger and younger. I wasn't even 30 when I realized I couldn't cut it anymore. I kept getting stripped, my shots were all getting blocked and I was getting beat to every loose ball out there. It wasn't until I tore up the ligaments in my thumb trying to block a pass that I admitted I was getting too old for it. I switched to volleyball and played that for another 25 years. These days, all I play are records & CDs. I get my exercise on an elliptical.
The problem with playing sports at older ages or out of shape is that our brains tell us that we can still move our bodies like we did when we were kids and we can't.
