Looked it up and I couldn’t find a playoff game where the Patriots won in Denver in the SB era. Yeah new era but it would be nice to have the bye and avoid that…

Agreed. Should it ever come to fruition.. saw some things JMD.. could take advantage of with Denver..

Nix panics in the pocket when people are near his feet..

Denvers LBs can be had in coverage
Denvers D can be overly aggressive especially on 3rd downs..

Had Daniels played they likely win... Mariota sucks..

People still doubt the Broncos and claim that Nix aint all that.

Really? The Broncos are the # 1 seed in the AFC.

All this talk about the Denver D not good outside of Mile High is nonsense. That was Denver's 4th consecutive road win and the 2 road losses they have were by 1 point vs Indy and 3 points vs LAC. Nix proved that he is a keeper last season and he has picked up where he left off this season. Making enough plays to win is all you need.
I see your points..

I pointed out some things a team with a good QB and good OC could expose about thier defense. We also have to remember they went to overtime against Marcus Mariota....

Watching the games this weekend has made one thing clear to me. At this point there is no front runner to win it all. Every team that looked to be a front runner at some point has faltered in some way shape or form. Even division leaders that continue to win have their warts and some have either lost to a team they should have beat or just barely squeaked by. Who is going to get hot going down the stretch? Home field advantage into the playoffs this year seems more important than ever. If the SB was today who do you think would be playing? Would it be the Pats vs Bears? This years it feels wide open for anyone to get to the dance in both conferences.

Because the Chiefs have gone to seven straight AFC championship games and won three Super Bowls in that time. Because they have been clearly the team to beat and are the current NFL dynasty. Because the Chiefs and Mahomes have shown repeatedly, many times with the help of the refs, that they will find a way to win.

So yeah, one of my top priorities is getting them the hell out, it’s insane not to think that way.
I'd much rather have the one seed than worry about who makes the last one or two spots for the wild card. IF KC sneaks in, they'd be on the road for three straight games. A little different than hosting two games in Arrowhead.

I'd also argue that Denver winning/KC losing increases our chances of playing KC in the playoffs with a 2 vs. 7 game.

Edit: I just checked and KC has only won two road games during their dynasty run, both close games in 2023. I'll take my chances against them at home in a down year for them if it means getting a bye/home field.

Agreed. Even teams like the dolphins minus hill are playing better.. post bye week we will need to play some of our best ball.. we've done that for the better part of the season.. its absolutely wide open this season.. very exciting

It's been terrible here for Patriots teams. Best HFA in all of organized sports. Tom Brady got his ass kicked by ****ing Jake Plummer.

The Panthers beat the Rams.

The Bengals are not eliminated from the post season and they beat the tar out of the Pats. The Commanders showed up last night.

Yep. I know they weren't that good in 05 but even the most clutch kicker ever AV had an off night... bizarre. We have had our moments there in the regular season just not in the playoffs.

Losing there in the 2015 regular season and then having to go there for the AFCCG... ugh.. thus Losing again.

I remember thinking last year that Washington wasn't that good and they actually win a playoff game. Now the wheels are off the bus. I haven't seen them play ... what happened (daniels injury certainly a big part of it). I hope we're not going to follow that script. We're in better shape, right?? (he asks nervously)/
The Commandos went to the NFCC last season with a rookie QB.

Losing Daniels for 6 games this season sunk their 2025 season.

Lost to f'n Brock Osweiler in that regular season game. Unreal.

Just weird that Bill didn't have any urgency to lock up the top seed that season so there was no need to go to Denver in the playoffs. Just really bizarre game plans like featuring a broken down Steven Jackson and Brandon Bolden against Miami. Brady threw 7 passes in the first half.

All the more infuriating with the report that the Broncos were afraid of playing in Foxboro in the playoffs.

That regular season loss remains the most infuriating patriots loss of all time for me bar none

That was the game where the Amendola would-be TD was called back right?

Also the 156th string PR having the ball bounce off his face?

I was overseas for that one and stayed up to watch that ****.

Never seen Skippy so happy after a win.
Brady and Moss did nothing that afternoon.
It was like they took the day off

That was in 09 I think. The way McDaniels was acting postgame I thought was gonna rip off his shirt like Hulk Hogan

The chances of a tie were remote.

The Broncos likely would have used all 4 downs in most situations no matter the field position.

Remote? That is a bit of stretch. There was was only 2:47 left. Denver only had one time out left. In the fourth quarter, the Broncos had five possessions. They punted three times (two were three and outs). Nix was intercepted. And they had one TD.

Now the Commanders' defense could have been gassed too much to make a stand, but it wasn't like the Broncos were clicking on all cylinders and were guaranteed to drive down the field.
