We're looking at the actual possibility of the Pats facing the Rams in another SB.
Silence of the Rams III would make a great video to add to the collection.
Someone pinch me.
Rams, yes. I've been picking them since ~week 6 - as the most complete & experienced team. Clear SB favorite.
But, sadly, Pats would get destroyed this time around. I really don't think we'll make it past the divisional round.
For these simple reasons:
1. Not enough in the Run game - OL blocking + RB talent (Hendo isn't ready to be Dillon or Michel in the playoffs)
2. Not enough dominance in the Pass rush on D (we've constantly given bad QB's time, and made them look good)

It has been a good two weeks. First the Chiefs knock the Colts off contention by beating them. Then they take the L on Thanksgiving day to the Cowboys to pretty much kill their playoff hopes.

Patriots just need to stay healthy and we have a legit shot at that #1 seed and the bye!

A late Happy Thanksgiving to all!
How are the Colts out of contention when there has to be a AFCS champion? I am still not sold on the Jaguars at all. And, I don't trust the Chargers. Every season the word is that Herbert has turned the corner and every season he falls apart.

Jerry Jones: This team is really special. They're unified. I've never been in a more Christian locker room.

As a northerner, I don't understand this kind of comment. Is the word used down south to mean "unified"? I only know it as a description of religion.

But if there's anyone in that locker room who is not Christian (and I'm 100% sure there is) then it's an odd comment.

Personally, if I were on the team and someone said, "This is the most Muslim locker room I've ever been in," I'd think they were either talking about the huge number of Muslims on the team, or I'd stop to consider that maybe the speaker meant "the most devout (or faithful)" locker room I've ever been in.

Either way, I would've considered it an odd comment. This may just be semantics though.
It is just semantics. You capitalized Christian in your post and it should be a small c, christian. You assumed a religious statement which is wasn't and that is why you are confused.

Probably not, but if Burrow can get right, it’s possible. They play the Ravens again, and Pittsburgh is on a bit of a downside. They don’t need to take a wildcard, they just need to pass those two teams. They’re 4-8, the Ravens are 6-6, the Steelers are 6-5. There’s a path, but a slim one. I can see a scenario where they win their division at, like, 7-10.
It's definitely possible.

I would enjoy seeing a 7-10 team make it while a few teams with better records and wins vs that team are out. Imagine the screaming then from those teams?

The 4 team division setup would be the culprit. Maybe no team from the AFCN belongs in the playoffs.

Again, no credit given to the Patriots. It's truly incredible, you people.
The Ravens just got smoked, at home, by the team that we beat on the road 3 days ago.
The Bengals team we beat was missing Burrow and Chase, so not the same team. We're good but not so good that we can't take all opponents seriously. The Ravens and the Giants have talent and are capable of beating us especially with our injury situation. The Bills certainly. The Phins and Jets games could be challenging too.

What stands out to me are the similarities between this year and 2001, the original Silence of the Rams. Not many Pats fans believed that they could beat the Rams back then but they did. And they did it with a newer QB

Then the Pats beat them again, only this time at the end of the QBs career.

And now, here we are again. We have an actual chance to get to a SB and face the Rams again. Not saying it'll happen of course, but it is possible. And it's possible because of another newer QB. If it happens the Pats will win.

It's in the stars.

According to PlayoffStatus.com:
- The Chiefs now have a 71% chance of missing the playoffs
- The Ravens now have 70% chance of missing the playoffs
- KC: 1% #3 seed, 4% #5, 9% #6, 14% #7
- Balt: 29% #4 seed, 1% #7

The Giants one cost us the 19-0 season. If Favre didn't throw a game-losing pick vs the Giants we end up playing the Packers and most likely beat them.
The Pats would’ve obliterated the Packers even with Brady’s bad ankle. They were a massive drop off to the best team in the conference which was the Cowboys. Giants had no business beating Dallas, GB and then NE. They are the luckiest team in NFL history.
The fact that we could be looking at no Mahomes, Lamar or Burrow in the playoffs is pretty wild.
It shows had bad their teams are. Including the Bills, if they all time traveled to different eras, their records would be even worse. None of these teams would make the playoffs. NFL HC and GM’s continue to get worse by the year.

Now Pitt and then NE need to put Allen on that list lol.

Fair enough, but the logical corollary is that we stop insisting that the Broncos and Colts are frauds, right? This is looking like a potential changing of the guard season in the AFC.
Going back from whence we came.

Did you bother to even read what I wrote? I said it might not ONLY be about religion. Read it again.

Keep it up, we will remember when you finally jump on the bandwagon

Bengals defense with two consecu

Most likely? They beat them bad. Favre is the exact type of QB Bill would have eaten for lunch.

The Patriots, unfortunately, got the worst possible opponent in terms of a defense with a vicious front four.

As for the Chiefs, yesterday was the first time in a very long time that I thought calls went against them. Some of those PI's were ridiculous.

Now they need to go 4-1 to get the 7th seed. Not going to be easy. But certainly possible.

Just watched the Chiefs v Cowboys highlights. Lamb and Pickens had a great day with the Chiefs secondary.

man wished the colts would have beaten the chiefs last week…just need them to lose another game or two! I don’t want to see those bums in the playoffs!

The Ravens and Steelers play each other twice still. If they split those games, then each lose the rest of their other 4 games, they each finish 7-10. Both of them have generally average to difficult remaining schedules. Meanwhile, Cincinnati has a fairly easy remaining schedule, and would just need to go 3-2 the rest of the way with one more win against Baltimore in that set, finish 7-10, and end up winning the division due to best intra-divisional win record.

It'll take me a few days to recover from rooting for JJ's 'Boys.

Right there with you. I think I may have thrown up in my mouth a little

It seems they really should have bitten the bullet and given Waddle the big money, as problematic as he is. They haven't been the same since he left.
I know you meant to say Tyreek Hill, the other Dolphins WR. In fairness though, the Chiefs won two more Super Bowls after they traded Hill away. They haven’t really needed him, and they loaded the roster with speedsters (MVS before, Worthy, Brown, Thornton now). Rice has essentially taken over Kelce’s role as the underneath guy that’s always open. I’m not really sure why the Chiefs have struggled this season, but I’m delighted by it. They’re not mathematically eliminated yet, but they’ve already lost so many tiebreakers to other wildcard hopefuls that one more loss and they’re toast.

We need to stay focused on the bigger picture. KC beating Indy now gave NE a one game lead in the AFC. KC will do us another solid playing spoiler against Denver soon. Other than that, KC isn't making the playoffs. If they do, they will be on the road and get eliminated.
