So you don't think the Patriots can earn the 1 or 2 seed on their own just by taking care of business? You'd rather root for the Chiefs? Hater, IMO.
Depends on how healthy they are. Some things are outside their control so anything that increases their margin for error is a good thing imo.

You’d rather things be harder for them? That makes you the hater.

I remember the Pats beat the Giants 17-6 once in 2003 I think. I remember RB Mike Cloud scoring the only Pat’s offensive TD that day. An ugly win, but a win nonetheless.
That 2003 offense was weird. They were pedestrian, but turn it on when they had to.

Bryant is the RT backup. Lowe is the LT backup.
IIRC Bryant also played some LT in college.

But if Campbell is out Lowe probably replaces him so Bryant can back up both OTs. Only possible exception would be if Bryant looked significantly better at LT in practice he might get the call. Wallace could probably serve as a backup at OT also.

Do we have Oline guys on the practice squad we like enough to elevate?

Also wanted to mention that Joe Flacco is the 2nd biggest Patriots troll to Eli Manning. Only one game has been decided by more than one score in the 2013 meeting at Baltimore where the Pats kicked their asses. Every other game came down to one score.

Oh and Douglas continues to trip over himself.

There is an argument for using Chism more. Have that Edelman/Amendola thing of getting open very quickly. One issue with our WRs is that they take a bit of time to uncover.
I don't think there's much evidence so far he can do that against actual competition.

I didn’t say he wasn’t. I just don’t believe he’s an all-pro or ever will be.

I DO think be can be an all-pro guard.

If they have to stick with him there it isn’t the end of the world, but I think if they upgraded at LT, and put him at LG it could be outright nasty.
What makes you think he can be an all pro OG? I am actually pretty skeptical about him successfully moving inside.

By default I believe Lowe will be significantly better than last year due to the three O-Line coaches we have on our staff, hopefully it will be good enough.

What Edelman did took significant time to learn. Most college WRs are not ready to play in the NFL like that. Let the kid work on it and we’ll see going forward. Our receiving corps is fine for this year

Are Jedrick Willis and Shaq Mason still available? Shaq was a decent run blocker who may be able to help us cross the goal line from a foot out. Willis if healthy may be a better option than V. Lowe…..

I'm sure it's been noted, but the Pats are the #1 seed and I believe would continue to hold that even if Denver picks up another win next week as I believe Denver has lost a game within it's division and the Patriots are currently undefeated in their division for the tiebreaker.

Interestingly as much as everyone knocks the Pats strength of schedule, they're undefeated on the road which is not easy to do.

Yes Marcus Bryant was the LT @ Missouri opposite Armand Membou.

I'd really be cautious with guys next week vs. NYG. If someone is still a little banged up, give them the benefit of some rest. Obviously you WANT to win, but not a big deal to lose that game against an NFC team. Then they get a bye week after that to get healthy for the home stretch vs Bills, at Ravens, at Jets and vs Dolphins. ALL of those games are AFC teams, so going 3-1 in that batch even with a loss vs NYG is probably fairly likely to keep the #1 seed. Just depends on if the Broncos can stay hot.

Shaq is a FA. 32 yo isn't bad for a G.

On March 7, 2025, it was announced the Texans will release Mason

And a few weeks ago....

Mason is the best guy available on the market right now for sure. He has played 151 games and started 146 of them. He’s been a career starter, and it’s a little wild that he’s not on a roster right now, especially since he started 15 games for the Texans, who were a playoff team last year.
