I don't think that really qualifies as Vrabel outsmarting BB. It's not like BB was caught off guard. He himself found the loophole in the rule. Vrabel's team was just winning so they got to use it. That wasn't about BB being outsmarted. Maybe he was out-gameplanned (tbh I don't remember specifics of that game).

Vrabel is very different than Belichick. Belichick's focus was on individuals performing their jobs, Vrabel's s on performing as a team. Vrabel relates to players as individuals, Belichick sees them as disposable parts.

Belichick's greatest strengths were strategic and tactical. He gameplanned better than any coach in history, and had a quarterback who could implement those gameplans in ways that benefitted both the offense and defense, and the overall game plan. Belichick was the greatest coach in history in this regard. When you had to win that one game there was no one better. Whether it was the game plans against the Rams or Seahawks in the Super Bowl, it the many Manning games, Belichick's game plans were as good as it gets.

The question is about who is the better coach right now, as it was asked in the present tense. The answer to who is a better coach right now is Mike Vrabel, and that is abundantly clear.
