Okay this may not be the happiest of things to start off, but:

The 2011 New York Giants are the only Super Bowl Champion to finish the regular season with a negative point differential.

And, the 2007 Giants did not defeat an opponent with a winning record the entire regular season.

But my question is this:

How many teams in NFL history lost to only one opponent the entire season [regular+playoffs] and still did not win the league title?

I can think of two:

Us in 2007. I'm so sorry, again, to bring it up.

The 1999 Jacksonville Jaguars only lost to the Titans. All three times they played.

Any others?

Back in the late 60s, the Baltimore Colts and LA Rams were (stupidly) in the same division, the 'Coastal Division'.

Came down to the last game of the regular season; one of them had one loss, the other none.
They played each other, the previously unbeaten team lost.
That team lost the division title on a head-to-head tiebreaker, and their season was over (no wild cards then).

Edit: Here it is, 1967
Colts finished 11-1-2, second place, no playoffs.
Rams finished 11-1-2, won the division - then lost to the 9-4-1 Packers in the first round of the playoffs.
Green Bay beat Dallas in the Ice Bowl the following week, then Oakland in what is now known as Super Bowl II.
Colts had two more wins than any other division winner.

Much respect to the fans from the Four C's days.
