NFL Trade Deadline Discourse

We should trade for AJ Brown, Jaylen Waddle, and Chris Olave, just to be sure.

And Tee Higgins, Calvin Ridley and Brandon Aiyuk.can you imagine how tough we would be to stop if we used 10 receivers and Maye. Unstoppable. We wouldn't even need a defense.

They really should keep Kyle Williams. I think it’s way too early to throw in the towel. If you want to add another top WR and essentially make this a red shirt season for Williams that’s different.

To be fair Tee Higgins is really really good.

Yet how good are the Bengals?

To which some here will say : But they don't have their quarterback?

And why is their quarterback always hurt?

Because they spent all of their money on receivers so their offensive line SUCKS. In the past 3 seasons their offensive line has only reached a pass protection grade of 50% thirty percent of the time.

The Patriots need to continue building their OL and Defense, They can draft another receiver the first 2 days of the draft, they have other priorities.

The Bungels are scoring points left and right, Joe Flacco had like over 400 yards yesterday, and they just paid Hendrickson a ton of money, but that defense is abysmal!

I doubt Burrow would have been any better than Flacco was yesterday

I still don’t think they’re adding offensive players. I can see them adding one or two defensive players for pick swaps or maybe one of the 6s outright. I suspect the asking price will be too high on many players, though.

They have a plan and they will want to stick to it, even though they are way ahead of schedule. I’d be shocked to see a flash and trade.

Really blows ya mind when you see people still advocating that the pats WR are enough when we've seen for years it's not.

They been on a good run for 6 weeks but you're fooling your self if you think schedule doesn't have a lot to do with it.

They're unlikely to get a WR of any significant value at the deadline so they might as well Ee if they can't upgrade at RB and pass rush.

And the Eagles just won the superbowl paying for 2 elite WRs, an Elite RB, and a very good TE.

Building a complete roster is the goal. Whether you fill those spots through the draft or FA you need a complete team to win.

Not wanting to upgrade a position because it didn't work for team is terrible logic.

Burrows keeps getting hurt because he is soft and doesnt learn to take a hit. Brady played behind some mediocre offensive lines but he managed by making it his offseason training to take hits while reducing injuries.

Edge rusher would be my number one priority

I would like the pats to lookk at ardent key, dremont Jones or Alex wright . If we get breece hall for a fourth rounder that would be golden. Outside of that , I feel Boutte injury is a blessing in disguise to see what we have with our other players.

Considering the amount of injuries each team has, it's lucky that we are facing the first issue after 9 weeks. We just need to cross fingers that rest of them stay healthy .

Build the trenches and have a decent Te 1 or Wr 1.5 and have a real solid oline.

Draft BPA always in first 4 rounds. More we hit in draft and mid tier free agency, better it is for us. More of the tonga , mack hollins , elliss, hooper needed to build depth and consistency at lower price point .

Bengals and commanders are a cautionary tale of overspending draft assets or cap space in just one area.

Take a long term view and don't mortgage the future.

For now let's aim to get the wins rolling somehow. We played our worst yesterday and still we won . That's a good sign. We will continue to improve and excel and cause more upsets.

Chism, Jennings, Williams it's your time to shine. Run ahead with the opportunity.

Philly's really grasping at straws right now. Looks like panic move after panic move.

They could have just signed Williams when they had the chance.
They’re desperate for pass rush help. Convinced Brandon Graham to come out of retirement. I don’t hate the move tbh. Likely a late 3 and depending on next years FA he could resign or figure into a comp pick if he leaves.

He should be on the FA short list if Philly doesn't extend him.

I would have traded a 3rd for Phillips. But I'm sure Miami wants him out of the division.
Seems like a lot for a guy who's hurt all the time, to me.

It's sorta like Dorian Thompson-Robinson to me. I like the *idea* of Jalen Phillips, a lot more than the actual player on the field.

Counter point. If you can’t draft top WRs which of course the jury is out on you’ll need someone to help a young QB win. Is Diggs elite? Not anymore. He’s been solid though. Not to mention the Pats have a lot of cap room. So would they have sacrificed anything by having Tee Higgins? Probably not.

Bengals are having an off year. Their problem is that their owner is one of these guys who are obsessed with having players “live up to their contract” which is good overall but there were a bunch of FAs like Hendrickson who are clearly not in their plans who they should have traded.

They would have sacrificed Steph Diggs.

This team's not where they are today without him.

Well after yesterday I think how I view the trade deadline tomorrow is a little different then before the game. First, do we have an update on Boutte? Him getting injured is kinda huge. I get that the Falcons secondary is pretty top shelf but you could really feel him not being on the field. If he is going to miss several weeks as much as it pains me we need someone that could (try to) fill his shoes. Kyle Williams is lost out there and my thought is to shelf him until next season to see if he can catch on.

I think we do need an upgrade on the edge. We just didnt seem to get the pressure we need on Penix even with all their backups on the field. I think inside we are good with Barmore/Williams but we need a guy on the edge that teams have to focus on. Currently I dont think we have that guy that every play is wrecking things, like Bosa was yesterday.

I still think we could use a big body Blount type of RB, I question if Henderson could be a long term 3 down back, he just seems undersized for that roll to me. (In case Rham misses more time or gets back to fumbling)

I also think I would like to see maybe another DB added to the team. Preferably a guy 6' + we have struggled in games with teams who have these tall receivers like London. Marcus Jones is almost always in a good position but he just cant get up high enough to deal with the jump ball catches and Gonzo cant cover everyone and seems to always be a play away from being injured. Davis is ok but is another guy that somehow gets hurt almost every game at some point.

Is Ellis going to miss much time? Do we need to add a LB for down the stretch? Do we have what we need on the roster to get by with and not get over exposed at the position? It's not a strong position currently and regardless of what we think about Ellis he is one of the better LBs we have on the roster.

We most certainly wont add all those positions but I do hope we get one or possibly two done. Just my quick thoughts.

If they’re so far under the cap I’m not sure they sacrifice Diggs. I’m not saying you’re wrong, but there’s room for both is what I’m saying without sacrificing anything for the near future.
