Waddle is unlikely, but he would be a fantastic addition.

Budda Baker seems the most likely and would upgrade the S position. Here's the feedback from NFL execs going into the season:

Rank 8 for top 10 S's.

"Voters just can't quit Baker, the oldest player in the top 10. He is going on six consecutive Pro Bowls and is still a menace at the line of scrimmage.

While appearing on every ballot is impressive, his lack of ball production -- zero interceptions and five total pass deflections since 2023 -- hurt his standing this year. But from a tone-setting standpoint, he remains elite.
"Unreal production when moving forward," an NFC executive said. "Missed more tackles this past year but made a ton of plays behind/at/near the line of scrimmage. And he played all 17 games."

As one NFL coordinator put it, Baker frequently limits big plays with his tackling, which offsets his low interception totals. His 164 tackles and 10 tackles for loss were among the best at his position in 2024.

The Cardinals also miss Baker dearly when he's injured, posting a 1-9 record in games he's missed. He has been durable considering his size (5-foot-10, 195 pounds) and physical style of play often lead to injury.

This would be a great pick up.

He's a very good player when he's healthy.
He's due a contract, so only way I see giving up a 3rd is if you plan to resign him and cut bait with Dre in the off-season.
He's averaged over 90 yards from scrimmage per game in his career on some horrible teams.
How is in he as a receiver and blocking back
If he’s good there then I’m all for it

Waddle is a proven commodity. Or we could draft the next Tyquan Thornton or Ja'Lynn Polk instead with that 2nd.

Let's be brutally honest here our drafting at the WR position over 2 decades has been amongst the worst in the league.

Waddle also costs almost 30 million a season, and I want to see them develop Williams and Chism.

This is a new regime, Belichick's problems at drafting WR's doesn't apply to these Patriots.

In addition to shopping Waddle, the Fins are also supposedly open to trading edge rushers Chubb and Phillips - with Judon also mentioned as someone available. FS Minkah Fitzpatrick is also on the block.

Only one we should be interested in is Phillips.

I know not the biggest need but I would love to see Waddle with Maye.

Happy now

I think a safety or DE be nice.

At this point I'm not looking for a WR this year or anything on offense really. I would like to improve the position next year, but right now i don't want to rock the boat. It is working. Diggs/Boutte/Henry are good enough to be go to options. Douglas/Hollins/Hooper are a good secondary crew. Stevenson/Henderson are good enough as pass catching backs. It's fine for now. I don't want to add a RB honestly. Hubbard's contract? I don't like it. They are already paying their RBs too much IMO. Stevenson's contract is way too big and they are stuck with it for next year too. I don't want to add another big contract to the RB role unless it is a true difference maker. Hubbard is not. Figure it out with guys off the scrap heap and Henderson.

As I pointed out over on Reddit, if they make a trade, the player's salary will probably be closer to $3M than $30M.

I really don't know why people want to add another WR. We've got a really nice WR corps and can absolutely win games with them.

I'd much rather address RB or S.
