Few random thoughts:

- Drake Maye continues to impress me. Last year when he was under pressure like he was today, his mechanics would go to crap and he would make a lot of stupid throws. He shined despite the pressure. I wish he was able to get his first 300 yard game because he deserved it.
- Despite the fumble, Henderson is finally coming on and they are finding a way to use him. I will chock up the fumble to a rookie mistake. I am hoping what we saw today from him before it is what we see going forward.
- Credit to Josh McDaniels. He made some great adjustments at half time. And of course his work with Maye has been outstanding.
- I feel for Myles Garrett. He is a first ballot HOFer playing on a team that couldn't beat most Pop Warner teams without him. I guess him going for the money says where his priorities are though.
- After a bad start this year, Spillane is definitely showing why the Patriots coveted him so. People aren't complaining about the LB play so much anymore.
- I think this was the first game where Christian Gonzalez looked elite all year. I didn't get the strategy to keep on throwing in his direction.
- I cannot remember this team being such a team and love each other and their coach at least since the early 2000s when Vrabel was a player with Bruschi, Law, McGinest, etc. Even the late Dynasty teams didn't see this cohesive.
- I won't say there was Mack Hollins hate on this board over the last few weeks (because there wasn't), but I did see a group of people who thought he was basically just another guy and expendable. I think today showed that he can be a far more valuable piece.

now imagine that without 6 sacks...

dude is a player
Not only is he awesome, but the relative level of QB quality in the NFL is just not what it used to be. The 12th best QB in the league 20 years ago may be as good as the 5th best QB in the league today. The rules are also built to help prop up a good QB now. Drake has a shot to really run circles around his competition.

The first 15 plays are on the coaching. Coaches should know what expect from these pre-scripted plays.
If we are clowning for the first drive. Are we also going to give credit for buttoning it up and calling a good game?I have a hard time believing that the coach sucks on the 1st drive and then gets good.

I explained my theory in a different post, but I think they play the 1st drive mostly in base Def and then the play calling kicks in.

I was wrong on White. I thought he was going to be great and he’s not. But I also think this new scheme is doing him no favors.
He's a no man's land type player meaning it's hard for a coach to scheme for him when they are too small to or limited athletically to play another position. White is too small for DT and to slow as an edge guy. His best bet is a hand in the dirt 4-3 end.

I love it! Pats collect another AFC win. Atlanta just got their asses kicked, so next week is looking good.

What Myles Garret did was reminiscent of Jason Taylor and Aaron Schobel doing to the Pats in the early years. As good as they were, it wasn't enough. They pay Garrett $40M per year, collects 5 sacks, yet still got their asses kicked.

Posters gave me resistance for saying the Pats should win at least 9 games this season. They are already at 6. That prediction was too easy.
Penix didn't play and Cousins had a real bad day.

That Browns QB sucks. How can you field and NFL team with a straight face without a legit QB?

As soon as Mickey D ran misdirection like KC, the Cleveland D didn't know whether to crap or draw small straws. They were not ready for that at all. I was glad to see the Pats throw to Stevenson too (something that the Browns didn't expect} Rahm has superb hands in regards to receiving.

Some Commentators are convinced that NE is winning the AFCE.

Whatever it is it needs to be better against really good teams.
What's frustrating is we stuffed them on first and second down.
Then we had coverage breakdowns, missed tackles.
Just frustrating.

Why can't the Patriots win the AFC East? Have you looked at their schedule vs. the Bills schedule? The Bills still have KC, Eagles, Tampa, Houston, Pittsburgh, and Cincy possibly with Burrow back and of course the Patriots. The only tough games the Pats have left are Buffalo, Tampa, and maybe Baltimore. The Pats have the Falcons next week maybe without Penix.

And the Bills just beat the Panthers with Andy Dalton at QB and most of their o-line going out injured in this game.

The Pats right now have the head to head advantage over the Bills and much easier schedule left. And one more win (although they have played one more game). I give the Patriots a very good chance that they will win the AFC East. It is far from a guarantee, but they could be 12-5 or 13-4 by the end of the year.

I'd just point out the other side's coaches get paid too
top defenses should not consistently lose to weak offenses in the first drive

And I was worried that McDaniels might not be a good fit for Maye.

Another spectacular miss. Won't be the last. At least it was a miss in the right direction.

He's turning Barefoot Mack Hollins into a Player I'm sold.

People ****ting themselves over him was embarrassing. If they actually looked the guy has had more runs of 2 yards or less than he has had of runs of 5 yards or more
I believe his longest run today was 3 yards.

Saw a stat the Daniel Jones has been sacked only 7 times all year. Maye was sacked 6 times TODAY. Could you imagine how much MORE damage Maye could do, even if they cut the sacks in half ? As it is Maye is doing a great job, need to get him more Oline help in the offseason.
I'll say it. I'm fine with the sacks. much better than throwing interceptions.
