Let's see.

2024 Wolf by himself - complete rubbish team structure

2025 Wolf & Cowden & Vrabel - strong and balanced team structure

What was the difference between 2024 and 2025?

Let's see.
That's because Vrabel knew what he wanted and made specific requests of Wolf. Mayo didn't know what he wanted and left it all up to Wolf, which is an impossible task.

Fair but he knows what Vrabel wants/likes.
Yes but knowing what someone wants does not determine which player to pick. Someone has to pick a player that both matches the need and who will be a starter. That identification skill set has been missing for years.

Hmmmmmm: name calling on a player who have made great strides. Noyacs Boutte made a huge catch at the end to set up that game winning FG.
Stop calling him Noyacs. He already has more YAC than Brandon Lloyd.

Sprinkle in a little AJ to go with it..

Why? AJ is a locker room cancer and he's doing all that when his team just won the SB and is favorites to win the SB again this year. Red flags are all over the place with this guy and he's supposed to be a veteran.

S Diggs is a locker room cancer according to some: how has his transition worked out?? Repeat after me all great WR's are diva's it's fine.

Intermediate passes to Williams would be great. He just might get more YAC's than Noyacs Boutte.
In fairness, many of the targets Booty has got have been digs where he is hit immediately and back shoulder throws on the sideline with close coverage. Maybe you can say well they are back shoulder because he is not beating the CB over the top and you are correct, but to say he cannot get YAC needs the context of the targets he is getting.

Booty has been super reliable this season and thus far is the move the chains gain. He has 13 catches and 11 have been 1st downs. I don't think we need less of him. He is also avg 16 yards per reception

  • Stefon Diggs (WR): 133 YAC
  • Hunter Henry (TE): 84 YAC
  • Rhamondre Stevenson (RB): 121 YAC
  • Austin Hooper (TE): 55 YAC
  • DeMario Douglas (WR): 14 YAC
  • Kayshon Boutte (WR): 9 YAC
  • Mack Hollins (WR): 6 YAC
  • Kyle Williams (WR): 1 YAC

Rham leads the Pats by a wide margin and is 9th in the league with 9.3 YAC.

Well by your logic, do we really want I yard Kyle Williams? I am being facetious, but again you need context of the targets they get.

I didn't realize Boutte is last in the NFL with just 9 YAC.

Your right.. silly me... we don't need AJ, DJ Moore, Olave... those bums... we got Mack Hollins anyway!...

I used to say the same of Lloyd.
YAC's aren't everything. Players need to be put in position to have a chance at significant YAC's. That being said, When the ball is thrown to Boutte, I expect a good play, good execution and no YAC's. I expect YAC's if the ball is thrown to Diggs, Henry.

It's close. Lloyd has 2.33 YAC per game in 2012.

Williams will be expected to get YAC's as he is targeted much more. Boutte is targeted a lot now.

I too am eating some crow, physically he looks great but I also like that he brings a DOG mentality. This team has been boring and lifeless for a while.

A little bit of edge goes a long way on a team that has middle of the road talent.

Loved his energy and confidence, it spilled over to the whole team.
The fact we were playing Buffalo definitely added to it.. but i can tell this is Diggs authenticity he's a passionate guy and fiery.. this team needs this...
