Yeah, that would be the smart thing to do. I sure hope he would follow such a path. Yet I will point out that one thing the WRAL report points out how Bill seems to isolate himself from others and is poor at communicating.

My take is that for whatever reason he's in a "I don't give a ****" mode. He doesn't care what people think about his relationship. He doesn't care what people think about how he does his job. I think it'll be a huge challenge to get him back to a place where he gives a ****. I don't think people around him have his best interest at heart so they won't do much to try to help him get back to that place.

If the posts are true that he is negotiating a way out from UNC, I doubt it's about any concern he may have about damaging his reputation. I bet it's more about him simply not liking the job, for all kinds of different reasons.

Every pats fan loves what Bill did as a HC from 2001 to 2018. But that doesnt change the fact that he is a creep for parading around a 24 year old dressing like a prostitute and now sucks as a HC.

Brady is the GOAT but I'm not a fan of his commentary. His being the GOAT doesnt mean he is a great commentator or will be a great part owner and I could care less if he ever wins anything as an owner of the Raiders.

The problem is some fans devoted to Belichick truly thought Bill could have won a Superbowl with any QB and that Brady was lucky to have Belichick when in reality that wasn't true.

No it started earlier. Benching Butler and pushing Brady out the door without a successor were before Ms. Hudson entered the picture. His judgement was impaired to even enter into that relationship in the first place.

SBB keeps calling people “haters”, but I certainly don’t hate Belichick. I have rooted for him and his teams for 40 years and genuinely care about him as a human being.

Frankly, his apologizers and fanboys in the fan base and media are as responsible for Bill’s descent as anyone other than himself. If someone had actually stood up to him to explain himself RE: Butler and he received the criticism he so richly deserved for that “non-football decision “, perhaps, he would not have continued on his petty, ego fueled descent that has so deeply tarnished his legacy.

It's possible to identify serious flaws in Bill's executive acumen even before what you mention here. But the fact remains that New England was a successful franchise record-wise (omitting the Covid year) under his watch through the 2021 season. He met Bunny in 2021, the Pats coincidentally went 8-9 in 2022 and 4-13 in 2023.

But seriously, as you point out BB's descent was his own doing. His ill-advised May-December "romance" is more a symptom of increasingly poor judgment vs. direct cause of on-field failure. Although, as infamously illustrated below in 2023, the man's compulsive preoccupation with that hot young thang likely sped things along.
